It’s probably not going to be too much of a surprise for you which artist I will name my absolute highlight of the upcoming Berlin Festival that will take place this coming Friday and Saturday at the former Tempelhof Airport. It’s Björk. If you haven’t seen this woman live, I strongly advise you to get your tickets. She is a phenomenon and a force of nature. I’ve seen two shows of her and they both were spectacular. Forget Gaga, Miley and Madonna. This is truely art and an event not to be missed. And it’s so rare also, you really shouldn’t miss it!
Of course a lot of you will also be looking forward to see the other two main acts Pet Shop Boys and Blur. I won’t be able to see them but it’s surely going to be a smash. I’m also excited to see Ellie Goulding live, missed her concerst recently and I think she is a doll. Also on my list: My Bloody Valentive, Delphic, who are also really amazing live, Pantha du Prince, and Matias Aguayo. On the night program at Club X-Berg I’m looking forward to DJ sets by Röyksopp, who I haven’t seen for way too long, and Justice and an extra special “Disko Chinesisch” DJ battle with many local DJs organized by our fellow bloggers from Mit Vergnügen. Fun! Get into the mood with some music after the jump! Read on…

Out of nowhere our very own beloved crazy aunt Björk has released a new music video for 2011’s Biophilia track Mutual Core. It’s actually my favorite track from the album, so even though this is a bit late I’m still quite pleased with the release and I love the video which I think is quite dramatic and visually typical Björk. It’s all in promotion for the Biophilia remix album bastards. I think it’s a really awesome selection of remixes and a great addition the an album that was already great in the first place. Enjoy the stunning video for Mutual Core after the jump.

Recently I attendend an exhibition on music videos at the Museum for Applied Arts in Cologne. It is really a pity that this wonderful art form is much less important than it used to be.
In our interview with Bodi Bill, probably Berlin’s most exiting band, you will find a selection of wonderful music videos – videos that are much more than a promotion tool, videos that have an artistic quality themsevles.
The directors of these videos are Andy Warhol (for The Cars), Spike Jonez (for Björk) Wong Kar-Wai (for DJ Shadow), Anton Corbijn (for Nirvana) and Stephane Leonard (für Bodi Bill). Read on…

Crazy auntie Björk has released another string of lovely noise / music called Crystalline. It’s the first single to her upcoming album Biophilia which she will publish in the shape of an App. How contemporary! The whole thing will come out in September. The wonderfull dress you see up there is by top avant-garde designer Iris Van Herpen who will have a show at Berlin Fashion Week next week. Exciting! Listen to Crystalline after the jump.

Did you ever notice that some of the freckles, marks and moles on your body resemble star constellations? Well, I for once did. This must also have been the inspiration for the Constellation Search, an art performance at White Rabbit Gallery tonight at 20h. If you go there your body will be explored for star signs and then tattoo artist Oliver of the Sky will mark them with little dotted lines. That’s so sweet! More infos and a suprise video after the jump.
