The Fire Effect

The Fire Effect

One of my finds during the recent Berlin Press Days was a special line of products of the new Eastpak Fall/Winter 2012 collection. Backpacks have become quite fashionable again in recent seasons thanks to Scandinavian hipster brands, but I think there still is a lack of variety and styles in stores. The current backpack styles are mostly based on the military rucksack – as much as I like the look of that, it just isn’t very practical and most models don’t even fit a normal laptop. The Floid backpack from the CORE collection of Eastpak comes in handy, as it easily fits a normal sized laptop and many other things in one of their pouches. It comes in a couple of colors and patterns, my favorite one being the Fire Effect – a red and black checkered robust canvas. I think it perfectly fits with casual denim and flannel looks. For the adventurous urban explorer there are also a series of other products like trolleys and shoulder bags in the Fire Effect style. Have a look after the jump.

With their new campaign When was the last time you did something for the first time? EASTPAK is introducing their new core collection for summer 2012. I had the chance to try out one of the backpacks of the series, the GETTER in coat black. It was my constant companion on my trip to Buenos Aires when I was walking the streets to take photos of street art in San Telmo or to find the nicest cafés and shops in Palermo. Even though it is not as fashionable as my giant faux-leather shoulder bag I can’t deny the superior comfort and practicability of the backback with its numerous compartments, zippers and extra waist straps. Especially when I was carrying both my camera and my laptop this was a big relief on my trip. After the jump you can see a new mood video by EASTPAK and some of the bags of the new collection.
