A few years ago the International Short Film Festival Oberhausen showed the Video for James Blake’s Limit to your Love in their showcase of selected music videos. When I watched this year’s selection I began wondering if Blake may have also produced a new video? And luckily along with his new album, he also produced a new little visualization of the piece „Overgrown“.

Almost the whole team went to Melt Festival last weekend ( Frank was with us, at least on our minds ), the girls having been camping, the guys having preferred a clean and cosy hotel room. On Saturday we were invited by Electronic Beats for a boat tour together with the girls of Fashion Blogs Les Mads and This Is Jane Wayne, lovely initiated by our hosts Pierre and Mathias of Mit Vergnügen. The meeting point at Melt was the ice cream stand supplying hungry vips with ice and wafles. Watch the pictures of the boat tour by Mathias Hielscher after the jump: Read on…

Last Saturday I went on a trip with my fellow bloggers from Amy&Pink, Interview, LesMads, Travelettes, This Is Jane Wayne (see Nike above in the arms of Whitest Boy Alive), Mit Vergnügen and Stylespion to visit the Electronic Beats festival in Prague with Woodkid, The Whitest Boy Alive, Grimes and Mike Skinner from The Streets.
Our trip started with a painfully early train ride to Prague, that some of us used to catch up on sleep or the latest episode of their favorite TV shows or – like me – get tipsy on a plastic cup of prosecco. Once we arrived in the beautiful capitol of the Czech Republic we wandered around in the streets of the city center, trying to escape the tourists and find the cool hot spots of Prague. Not an easy task!
In the evening, after an amazing dinner at the Cafe Imperial we went over to see the live performances at the festival. I was so excited to see Woodkid again, his concert in Prague was even more powerful then the last one and I really enjoyed his new songs, including the new single Run Boy Run that comes out later this month. The Whitest Boy Alive, although not my cup of tea, is an absolute crowd pleaser and it was fun to see Nike from the Jane Waynes goofing around with the band backstage. Enjoy some impressions of our trip and the concerts after the jump.

Next week I am going on a blogger trip to Prague. The guys from Mit Vergnügen were so kind to invite us along with fellow bloggers from Travelettes, LaJessie, Amy&Pink, This Is Jane Wayne and a few more to visit the Electronic Beats festival on May 5th, with concerts of The Whites Boy Alive, Grimes and Woodkid, as well as a DJ set from Mike Skinner from The Streets. I am especially excited to see Woodkid again, his concert at Festsaal Kreuzberg a while ago was amazing and I’m psyched to hear the new songs from his upcoming debut album The Golden Age. The details about the festival after the jump.

I realise it’s getting harder and harder to find suitable titles for our weekly event guides. There is not really always one theme for each week. So I might just call the whole thing “weekly event guide” and be done with it, haha… So, what do we have on this weeks agenda? We have the Strickenbar, a new beer garden by Picknick, an exhibition by artist Dean Rosenzweig, an experimental evening about food, a book release party and a new type of convention. Read more about it after the jump.

Roisin Murphy
This week is all in honor of Electronic Beats – the music platform that supplies us with the best concerts and mini-festivals, as well as its own magazine and DVD series. They are celebrating their 10th anniversary this Tuesday at Tape club and will have another one of their festivals here in Berlin on Thursday with Roisin Murphy. You can still win tickets for it, but only today here. It’s unfortunaly already sold out. More events after the jump.
NOTE: The Blitz party is on Friday!
