What a lovely way to start the week with the day of love: Valentine’s Day and a very special party for that occasion. Of course the city is being dominated with all the events of Berlinale. But honestly, I couldn’t be arsed going any deeper into this. Just like Fashion Week it is just too much and for some reason I prefer to let this mega event pass me by. My dear friend Katja is organizing her second fleamarket with her Travelettes girls at Dr. Pong on the 19th of December. Due to the season it’s going to be a Christmas market and in addition to their vintage treasures and fleamarket goods every seller has to bake a traditional Christmas treat from a country of their choice. The proceeds of these baked goods will then be donated to a charity that gives presents to children who wouldn’t get any otherwise. Now that’s what I call Christmas spirit! My good friend and talented photographer Katja Hentschel is organizing a very special fleamarket for women who are trying to generate some cash for their next vacation. The Travelettes Fleamarket is going to take place at Dr. Pong on July 4 close to Mauerpark. So far some really interesting women have booked a booth (it’s free!) but there are still some open spots for those who want to sell their vintage goods. While some people like to get rid of their old clothes others have a passion to buy just these. The upcoming WMP! Fashion Fleamarket will satisfy both of these needs. It’s gonna take place at Betahouse this Saturday at 13h. When I remember correctly they had pretty nice stuff the last time I was there, but it’s not as cheap as a normal fleamarket. It’s Sunday late afternoon and some of you probably just came home from browsing though the fleamarkets at Mauerpark, Arkonaplatz and Boxi looking for vintage treasures. Maybe you even went to come cool second handshops this weekend too. But you didn’t find anything? And don’t want to wait until next weekend? Well, that’s where the brand new online vintage shop Jay Loves comes in. A group of girls from Berlin has piled up all their vintage clothing, accessories and decorative items and made an online shop to save themselves the time and effort of selling it all on a fleamarket.
