These Berlin Cafes Deliver Breakfast & Brunch to your Home

Last week we already introduced you to all those great Berlin restaurants that currently deliver their lovely food to your home. Today we wanna cover all your breakfast and brunch cravings! For me, breakfast is my favorite meal of the day and going to a cafe for a French Toast or Shakshuka is one of my favorite things in terms of eating out. Many cafes are completely closed right now, only a few are still cooking and offer take away, and when it comes to delivery, well, the options are even more limited. But luckily, those few options that we could find, are excellent as they are some of the best brunch and breakfast options anyway.

As with the restaurant guide, as well you have to keep in mind that some of the delivery services of the following places are brand new and might still have room for improvement, so be patient with them in these complicated times. Also, the photos don’t necessarily reflect the dishes they offer for delivery as these change on a daily bases for some places. The times and days they offer delivery also vary, so please follow the link in the text to find out more about the specifics of their delivery services.

A Breakfast Guide for Berlin-Mitte

A Breakfast Guide for Berlin-Mitte

It goes without saying that breakfast is or at least should be the meal of the uttermost importance during the day. According to the Oxford English Dictionary, the etymology of the word refers to a large amount of food, with which a person breaks his fast in the morning. Its paramount importance is more than obvious in Berlin with countless cafes have outdoing themselves daily by offering an impressive variety of delicacies, sweets, omelets, coffee etc. and even accepting reservations on their busiest days. It is truly hard to compile a list with the best ones in Berlin, which is why we opted to create a guide for almost every neighborhood. What is more, we are always very happy to hear about new places that you have discovered and love, so make sure you share with us your suggestions in the comment section below. Today it is Mitte’s turn. Read on…

Exploring Berlin: A Walk Down Kastanienallee

Exploring Berlin: A Walk Down Kastanienallee

Whether you’re in the mood for romance, showing a friend around from out of town, or just collecting your own thoughts outdoors, it’s always a good idea to take a stroll through Berlin’s cosmopolitan wonder. And now that the lovely spring weather is arriving, can you think of anything better?

Kastanienallee and its surrounding area has a reputation for being a bit uppity, perhaps too trendy, perhaps too crowded with tourists and young moms and their baby strollers. The All-Day Breakfast Guide for Berlin

The All-Day Breakfast Guide for Berlin

I’m a total breakfast person. Well, I’m a food person in general, but breakfast is the most important meal for me and even if I have a busy day ahead of me I will take my time and indulge in my daily breakfast routine.

I love eating out for breakfast with friends or for business meetings. It sets me in the perfect mood for just about anything the day may bring, to first be served coffee, scrambled eggs, pancakes or cakes. But sadly, the majority of cafes and restaurants don’t align with my nighthawk schedule and super-late breakfast sessions. I never understood why restaurants decide to limit the time they serve certain dishes even though they still have the same cook and the same ingredients in the house. It seems to be one of those German bureaucratic rules that you just have to oblige.

But Berlin wouldn’t be Berlin if there weren’t at least some places that operate outside of these silly rules. I have selected 8 of my favorite places that I gratefully visit on a regular basis for a little all-day breakfast guide for Berlin.

Fleury – My Favorite Breakfast

Fleury – My Favorite Breakfast

The little cafe Fleury at Weinbergsweg has been around for a while. But it only got to my attention when I moved to the Prenzlauer Berg – Mitte area last summer. Since then it has become one of my favorite places to have cake and coffee or breakfast. They really have one of the best breakfasts that you can get (for under 10 EUR). It’s my absolute favorite. Try the Chevre Chaud salade, the mixed breakfast or the Croque Monsineur (which is better than in any place in Paris). The use only high quality ingredients which sets this place apart from any other breakfast cafe in the neighborhood and the best thing: They serve breakfast all day long, perfect for long sleepers such as myself. And in the summer (dreaming of it right now…) I love to get a rhubarb tarte and rhubarb spritzer and enjoy it on a blanket at the Weinbergspark around the corner (you could totally paint an impressionist picture of that…). Impressions and details after the jump.
