Dine with your Neighbours

Dine with your Neighbours

Do you remember the night of the singing balconies we wrote about a couple of weeks ago? I heard it was quite a blast. Now the organisers Polly& Bob are planning another large scale urban intervention in Friedrichshain which sounds like fun and I am looking forward to join. What a better way to meet new neighbourhood-friends than having dinner with them. So this is why a big running dinner will take place this Saturday in Friedrichshain where everybody can participate if they live in this district. Forming teams of two cooks you will get randomly paired up with other teams and be surprised what they will serve to you. Every dish will be served in another apartment, so you will not only get to know the cooking abilities of your neighbours but also learn more about their interior. A quite personal, yet funny and communicative event where – with a little luck – you might also find new friends. You can still join untill December 5. To take part you have to sign sign in here and you will get more information directly from Polly and Bob.

Gaumenzauber – The magical Food Delivery

Gaumenzauber – The magical Food Delivery

Did you ever try food-delivery in your office or at home, because you were working so much and had no time to cook or to go out for lunch? Most of them are unhealthy (cheesy pizza), expensive and all over unsatisfying. But it doesn’t have to be like that. We got in touch with the Berlin start up company Gaumenzauber a month ago. They catered for the shooting of our little webshow The Fruit Salad during Fashion Week and saved our lives and nerves at least a couple of times. Gaumenzauber ist not just a simple food delivery, it is a personal chef who provides you with the perfect meals every day. Learn more about them and see some delicious examples of their deliveries after the jump.

Katz Orange – A Beautiful Hidden Restaurant in Mitte

Katz Orange – A Beautiful Hidden Restaurant in Mitte

While I was gone it seems the city has already regenerated itself in some ways, closing a bunch of places and opening new ones somewhere else. You never get bored and it never stops to entertain you with new things.

One of Berlin’s new pearls is the restaurant Katz Orange. I went there on the first night after the return from my trip and what a great choice it turned out to be to welcome me back! The restaurant is located in a stunning old villa in a backyard of Bergstraße in Mitte. The barnyard-meets-vintage-factory interior is perfectly cozy and interesting to observe and there are a lot of charming details to keep you occupied while waiting for your meals to arrive such as the beautiful mixed-up vintage silverware. From the menu, we tried out the venison burger, the beef tartar, and the petit fours, all of which were absolutely delicious. Have a look after the jump for some impressions of the place and the food, as well as the details.
