O.M.G. We got a full page feature in the last issue of zitty Berlin. It’s so amazing! It’s out of control! Speaking about amazing: Jeans jumpsuits are not only this season’s favourite thing to wear, they are an all time fun-piece you can combine with a lot of colorful accessories. And with a lot, I mean a lot. I put a nice ribbon belt on my hips, wore a necklace made out of pens and a headpiece made out of a wind wheel to complete the outfit. Enjoy more of me in animated GIFs after the jump.

Yeay, I have my very own Fruit Salad website now here on I HEART BERLIN where you can watch all my episodes and find all my articles. It’s amazing and totally ingenious. Speaking about ingenious, when I was trying on my outfit for the shooting of the first episode, I had an ingenious idea. Would I look better with another head on top of me? I mean, seriously, what could be a better accessory then a whole head on your head. Well, I am not the only genius, because Charlie Le Mindu thought the same thing. The name of my head is Lola. Lola is from South America and she feels really cold here in Berlin so I had to give her a little woolthingy to feel better.
If you want to know more about my outfit: The crazy pattern dress is from Otto and all the rest is some vintage stuff I bought at several fleamarkets. See more photos and animated GIFs of the outfit after the jump.

It was one of the most talked about contributions for our GIF.ME.BERLIN. exhibition from 2011: Moving Forward – Looking Backward, a series of animated GIFs by visual artist Hara Katsiki. This weekend we have revived the series of intricate animated digital paintings on vintage photographs that has been expanded with 2 new pieces to be part of a group exhibition at the new nightlife-meets-art-hub POP. For the grand opening of the new art-themed nightclub this Saturday we have installed our collection of old TV sets once more to screen Hara’s amazing artwork. More after the jump.

When I stumbled across the new lookbook of Bernhard Willhelm‘s Spring/Summer 2013 womenswear collection I was really excited. He is pretty much on the top of my list of favorite designers anyway, not only because of his designs but also because of the way he presents it and the context he creates around it. But this new animated lookbook makes me love him even more. You all know I have a passion for animated GIFs, but this is so much more than that. In the amazing wobble photos he also incorporated really cool 3D animated effects and masks that give the animations a whole different dimension. It’s awesome! I wonder if he might have been inspired by the animated runway GIFs that I made of his previous menswear season.
As a programmer I was of course impressed by the use of technology behind it. And I’m also happy that he presents a simple yet effective way to show animated photos without the typical loss in quality due to the limitations of colors in GIFs. If you look after the jump you will see a series of animated GIFs with the typical quality loss, but on the designer’s website it’s actually not GIFs but high quality JPGs in a very fast slideshow effect (move your mouse over the image to start effect). Nifty! More after the jump.

A Shuttered Society – Photography in the GDR was an exhibition about artistic photography in the GDR that took place at Berlinische Galerie in 2012. The exhibition dealt with the photographic currents and the relation to media in this period and it was the first extensive showcase of the artistic work from photographers from the GDR. There was a series of photographs that showed the development of photography and also told about the everyday life in the GDR. The exhibition was divided into three parts: the socially engaged photography that was interested in a representation of reality, the artistic photography which emphasized on an artistic expression, and the photography of the young artists who underlined their bodies and their perception and parted from the traditions of the older generation. Enjoy a look back at some of the highlights after the jump.

“Glass House and Stone – Ascending”
This article is not about people who live in glass houses and should rather not throw stones. There is no lecture here, simply a series of photos and animated GIFs playing with the proverb. I took them with my friend Sarah at the former HomeBase Project residency space in Pankow at one of their vernissages. The glass house is the work of an artist from one of their residency cycles. Take a look at my series “Glass House and Stone” that includes 3 animated GIFs and one still image after the jump.

Reed + Radar are the makers of those awesome animated GIF fashion editorials for magazines such as V, W and VMAN. Now they’ve stepped up and made an amazing fashion film inspired by GIFs and old-school video games titled I Hate Kitties. I absolutely love this film, though I’m sure kittin-lover Suz will be shocked to see the kittens get kicked around. Enjoy after the jump.

Some of you might remember my friends Dev and Thibaud from the flyers of our 2010 I HEART XMAS event, last year’s Vintage Smackdown and my 2011 jewellery collection Houdini. The two boys from Italy and France made these super fun GIFs while ago after they felt inspired by our GIF.ME.BERLIN. exhibition. I absolutely love them! You can see some more GIFs by them after the jump. For more photos of the two handsome little devils you should follow their blog Starecasers.

On Saturday Claudio and I went to the book release party of Henrik Vibskov‘s first book about his work at the Gestalten Space. To make the event a bit more special he used the exhibition space for a little live performance. Claudio was not really impressed by this psychedelic presentation, but I liked so I made some animated GIFs out of the moving sculpture that he created. Check them out after the jump along with some impressions of the party.
