After last year’s intriguing Canvas Bar event in an unused subway tunnel of Berlin, Bombay Sapphire gin is continuing their collaboration with the art world with an exciting new project that we want to introduce to you today: With their new pop-up art campaign, they decided to go BIG. In five German cities, they have claimed the biggest canvas they could get: the walls of buildings.
For four weeks in September, five stunning murals will grace a big wall in Düsseldorf, Köln, Hamburg, Leipzig and – of course – Berlin. For each of the murals they commissioned established local artists: Semor, Jana Wind, Martin Grohs, and Stefan Kunz. But for Berlin, they did something special.
When it’s really hot in Berlin and the time is to short to go outside of the city to the lakes the only other option to cool down a bit is hitting the pools! Luckily, Berlin has a whole bunch of them from traditional public swimming pools, to cool urban pools and spas with open-air pools – there is something for every taste.
So it’s time for you to pack up your swimsuit, smack on some sunscreen and head out to the public swimming pools of Berlin for a refreshment!
Hurrah! Spring has sprung! And you know what this means: Outdoor locations are becoming a thing again!
No more standing under heating lamps, clutching to your thick coats. The last fluff of your scarves is scaling off your necks and many heads turn to other people again. With rising degrees, the core areas of the capital shift from the inside to the outside.
Berlin awakens in Spring. And along with it the people, the cafes, restaurants, urban parks, and festivals are returning from their winter hideout. How we’ve missed the many opportunities to enjoy life under the clear sky. With Spring, all these possibilities are back!
And even better, we compiled a list of activities and locations that are back from winter hiatus and open again for you to enjoy. See them right after the jump.

In all of the years that I have been living in Berlin the city never ceases to surprise me with new incredible places, no matter if they are incredible buildings, stunning interiors, unusual locations or innovative concepts. When people who are planning to come to Berlin or are already here but want to experience something new, they often ask me about places like that and where they can find them. My first reaction is always that I am missing the right answers because all the places are so familiar to me, after 18 years, what can truly still surprise me. But then I think back to the moments when I first discovered those incredible places, sometimes even before I had seen pictures of them, and how they made me feel. With this memory in mind I curated the following list of amazing places that will take you by surprise when you first visit them. Our readers who are more familiar with the city might know a lot of them already, but maybe we manage to have at least a couple that you don’t know yet.
The season of skulking through the dark nightclubs and dirty bars of Berlin is over, guys! It’s time to go outside and enjoy the sun. Well, we might not have a very long and intense summer here in Berlin (sadly). But those golden days that we get, we like to use as much as we can. And where do we like to go? Every where we can have a drink without a roof over a head. Preferably something with a view, or inside the green, or at the water. Well, luckily we have plenty of places in Berlin that fulfill these criteria and we’ve selected 10 of our favorite ones including some old classics and some brand new hotspots. Enjoy our list of awesome outdoor locations!
