The Magnum House of Play is the gift that keeps on giving! When you enter the place that was set-up in a former church you can discover one interactive installation after the other that invites you to play around, take photos and just enjoy the lighter things in life. From a huge golden swing in the center, over a pool of balls, a rocking horse, hula hoops, a doodle wall, and several games and fun photo backgrounds you will never run out of opportunities to feel like a kid again and just play. All of the installations have been done with so much love for details that you just don’t want to leave them at all.

The center of the House of Play is the DIY Magnum bar with a big chocolate fountain where you can customize your own Magnum with different chocolate coats and toppings. Finally, a Magnum made just for your desires.

You can visit the House of Play at the Elisabethkirche in Invalidenstraße every day until Sunday, June 23rd from 13-20h. And the best thing is: it’s totally free of charge. Of course, the place is quite kid-friendly, so bring the little ones for some good old fun.

To give you a bit of a preview here are some impressions from the opening on Wednesday that also saw some famous Berliners including Palina Rojinski, Marina Hoermannseder, Dawid Tomaszewski, Nikeata Thompson, Ricardo Simonetti, and Jack Strify.

Our First Interactive Game: The Flat Roulette

Our First Interactive Game: The Flat Roulette

Hello stranger! So you really want to live in Berlin? Getting a room here is such an uphill struggle with high rent, mould, and German bureaucracy that finding the right flatmate is usually left to the workings of fate. Our Flat Roulette game – being a simplified version of this real life scenario – introduces you to some of the most characteristic Berlin personalities and gives you a sneak peak into what you sharing a roof with them will really mean.

The game is a collaboration with illustrator Sophia Halamoda that many of you will know from the Berghain, Real Berliner and Bürgeramt comics. It’s part of our upcoming book “Like A Berliner” that comes out in 2018. Stay tuned for more games!

A City made out of Flesh: Monypolo 2

A City made out of Flesh: Monypolo 2

A city works like a body. It has its central stomach, its green lungs, its concrete skin and streets like arteries running through it. But what makes the head of a city? And will it run the complete system wisely and without any major incidents or will it bring it to death?

In the new theater game Monypolo II by Thea Hoffmann-Axthelm and Prinzip Gonzo the world as we know it does not exist anymore. Inside an abandoned office building in West Berlin, they created a new one. Here everything is divided by functions and organs all working separately desperately looking for a real leader. Between bureaucratic horror and futuristic sensual experience the play leads you through a universe that has no shape and no purpose. And maybe it is a world without a purpose that makes us silently fear the future we are heading towards.

Take your chance to visit the play until July 21, 2017 and make sure to buy your tickets in time. Our photographic impressions of the play below.
