Visual arts have lived through quite the revolution since the digital age. The possibilities to bend images to your will by changing a few numbers in a computer are practically infinite. Today, we don’t even have to use a computer anymore, as we can create stunning artworks with the help of apps on our phones.
One of the most curious developments of digital art, though, comes from artificial intelligence. Artworks done by AIs have been around for some years but really started to become a thing back in 2018 when auction house Christie’s in New York sold a piece for almost half a million by an AI called “Obvious” that was programmed by a collective from Paris. It’s an exciting concept, trusting programs and algorithms to create something that we humans can emotionally connect to.

Once again the big open air gallery that is Berlin welcomes a new artwork into their exhibition: We have a new street art mural in town and this one is pretty special: It’s a selfie mural that has a big silhouette-shaped gap in the design for people to step in front of to take a photo and become part of the artwork. You only have to find the selfie-spot that is marked on the street in front of the mural which puts you in the perfect distance and perspective to seamlessly integrate into the artwork. Pretty fun!
The mural that is located at Mühlenstraße 5 across from the iconic Oberbaumbrücke was designed by the artists Dee Dee Kid, Gogo Plata, Dejoe and the Dixons and it’s part of a project called #WALLSofWIR by Jägermeister. In total there will be four amazing murals in four cities, each created by a small group of local artists. The ones in Hamburg and Berlin are already up, in Stuttgart and Cologne are coming in the next weeks. Get a little impression of the Berlin one after the jump.

Wolfenbütteler Festspiele
Everyones favorite traditional German digestif Jägermeister is bringing their successful music program, the Wolfenbütteler Festspiele, to Berlin with the 4-day music festival Hubertusfest. From November 3-6 they are bringing established German bands such as Booka Shade, Jennifer Rostock, Kid Simius, Schluck den Druck and Romano together with newcomers such as Tüsn, Cosby and Chefboss to the stage at the Spreewerkstätten. Looking back at the many Jägermeister Wirtshaus Tour and Wolfenbütteler Festspiele events they have done in the past I can pretty much guarantee you that it’s going to be one hell of a blast.
One thing that makes this festival not only fun but also genuine is the support that the younger bands will receive through it. There is going to be three public nights with concerts. The first one is the Newcomer night that is free of entry. The second and third public nights will feature the more famous bands and ticket sales of these will actually co-finance the next music videos of the newcomer bands. We salute the spirit behind this, the older ones supporting the young. Cheers to that with a Jägi! After the jump you can find out more about the line-up and win tickets for the almost sold-out events!

The place was packed and the line outside was massive, this thing was really going through the roof – literally. The awesome concert of Fuck Art, Let’s Dance took place upstairs and you could see the ceiling bend and chandelier shake from underneath, crazy! On Friday the Jägermeister Wirtshaustour made a stop in Berlin at the new club Loftus Hall with live gigs by Eskimo Callboy and Tek-One as well as a crazy DJ set by Dumme Jungs. The night started all social and cosy in the “Wirtshaus” lounge with Jägi drinks, card games, jenga and kicker. The first live act Eskimo Callboy then turned all the cosiness into a storm with their hefty harcore electro. I went to the front for a bit to take photos but quickly had to retreat in fear for my camera and my health, as these crazy kids were going wild. The second concert of Tek-One was equally powerful with their massive dubstep sounds. The air was practically on fire! Enjoy our animated impressions on 2 pages after the click!
