Who Made Who
This year the Melt! Festival takes place for the 12th time, somewhere in the East German countryside, in a disused coal mine, a rather unusual venue for a festival. The location is Gräfenhainichen, near Dessau. Surrounded by gigantic cranes you can dance in front of the various stages and on the dancefloors. The place is called Ferropolis – the city of steel – because of the huge industrial machines standing around in the former coal mine. The festival’s camping area is located next to Gremminer See from where you can see those huge coal cranes that are illuminated by coloured lights when it gets dark and take a bath if it’s too hot.

So, the usually overpopulated Badeschiff is opening for its summer season this weekend. I hope you all practiced your Kyle Minogue – Slow group performance to be ready and fit for the sun decks. Yeah, because who actually wants to go into the pool, right?
Anyways, there is a lot going on there this weekend, especially in the evening there are some nice concerts worth checking out. Although I’ll be in Hamburg this weekend I will hopefully be back early enough on Sunday evening to catch the performance of the lovely Clara Hill who we were first introduced to by some songs she did with Jazzanova. She will play with a live band (including strings!) and this sounds just to good to be missed!
