Kelis at Levi’s Curve Attack Tour

The first issue of the new weekly event guide was quite easy to put together as we had so much going on last week with all the art fairs. This week is a whole other story, but still there is something for every night. And everythings seems to culminate in the weekend again with the hotly anticipated Levi’s Curve Attack Tour hitting the city with the concert of Kelis at Maria. Get your tickets here or at the venue for 20 EUR. Can’t wait!! More events this week after the jump.

The Levi’s Curve Attack Tour

Kelis

There is quite a lot of buzz going on about the upcoming Levi’s Curve Attack Tour that will start off in our city on October 16th and will then move on to Hamburg, Munich, Vienna and Zurich. No wonder with headlining acts such as the awesome Kelis and rising star Natalia Kills. Kelis made a surprising change of style with her recent come-back album Flesh Tone that moves a way from her RnB sounds towards very danceable club tunes. But this is not all!

Vote for Berlin to get Mark Ronson for the after party!

If we manage to take control of the Levi’s City Battle we will also get Mark Ronson into town who will pleasure us with a DJ set at the after show party. Wouldn’t that be a perfect treat? All we have to do is vote for our city over at their Red-Tab.com page on Facebook or by scanning one of the nifty QR codes spread all over posters, flyers, blogs and magazines in town. (the wonders of modern day technology make it possible…) If you vote you will also get the chance to win tickets for the concert and party! More infos and some musical appetizers after the jump.

Kiss me then I wake up

The new Basement Jaxx album has already been released a month ago, but I just stumbled across it yesterday. I was already pretty wowed by the title song Scars. But listening to the rest of the record I found one song better than the other and after a while a couldn’t stop myself from dancing around in my office. Haven’t heard such a fun record for a long time, well, since Amanda Blank to be precise.

The line-up of guest vocalists reads like the cast of an ensemble movie: Kelis, Santigold, Amp Fidler, Yoko Ono, Sam Sparro and Yo! Majesty to name only a few. And once again the British producer duo brings the concept of “Too Much” to perfection. More pictures and some music after the jump.
