Lollapalooza goes Berlin Horse Race – Festival Impressions

Lollapalooza goes Berlin Horse Race – Festival Impressions

After last year’s visit at the Treptower Park the joyful music carnival that is the Lollapalooza Festival unfolded its tent at the unusual location of the Hoppegarten horse race course. Embedded into the normally unused inner circle of the race course the festival had a much more straight-forward set-up than in recent years at the park and and the former Tempelhof Airport which made orientation much more efficient. It felt like it was also easier to locate and reach all the special areas of the festival such as the Fun Fair that was once again hosted by Absolut, the Kidzapalooza grounds and the Urban Nation exhibition cube.

Like last year we had the pleasure to visit the Lollapalooza with our partner Absolut. It was hard to miss their involvement in the festival thanks to their big bottle-shaped gate to the fun fair that also acted as a viewing platform, as well as multiple big glittering bottles. At the Absolut bar they served their newly revised Absolut Lolla cocktail made of Absolut Lime, wild berry soda and fresh berries. There was also a couple of other fun activities such as the photo booth, a flower crown workshop à la Midsommar and a little performance inspired by the Swedish tradition of Saint Lucy’s Day with illuminated creatures and a glowing unicorn. Some impressions of the visually stunning festival below…

Do you want to go to Lollapalooza with us?

Lolla is back! After half of Berlin celebrated inside the green forests of Treptower Park last year, the Lollapalooza festival is once again unfolding in the green, but this year in a new location: The Hoppegarten racecourse. On the 9th and 10th of September it’s time again, to sing, dance and enjoy music.

As we loved the experience so much last year, Lolla’s official partner Absolut invited us once more to be a part of the third Lolla Berlin experience. Only a S-Bahn ride away from the city center we can easily enjoy our beloved shower at home and sleep in our cozy beds at night. And isn’t that essentially what makes city festivals so great? Admittedly, the amazing line up this year does also play a crucial part. We seriously can’t wait to go all Lolla and are giving away tickets to you guys!

Absolut Lollapalooza! A full-blown Festival Experience

The Lollapalooza festival had its second Berlin edition this past weekend and it was quite spectacular. I hadn’t been to the one last year in Tempelhof, but this year there were a few acts that I didn’t want to miss so I took Absolut up on their invitation to join them, and I’m so glad I did.

This was probably the biggest festival I have ever been to (I admit I haven’t been to that many) and being surrounded by that many celebrating people is quite the thrill. Especially at the two main stages the crowd was so massive and to see them move and cheer with the performances is really powerful.

Between concerts I checked in with Absolut as often as I could. They had a big set-up that was part of the Fun Fair of Lollapalooza, which was a big playground to hang out in and goof around between installations and vintage circus tents.
