The Best Designer Face Masks

The Best Designer Face Masks

Since our first article about designer face masks from Berlin that came out in April and featured 7 different designers who were amongst the first to produce masks a lot has changed. The senate has imposed rules that it’s compulsory to wear masks in public transport and shops. But also many more designers have decided to create masks with their own style so we have some good looking alternatives to the self-made ones or the ugly blue hospital ones. In the end, we have to wear these on our faces, so at least they should look good somehow, right?

With so many more options on the market, we thought it’s about time to make another designer face mask guide for you. We are glad to be able to support some local small businesses with our guide and give our readers some pointers on where they can get what they need. We decided not to repeat any of the designers from our first guide as this one still is new and valid. So please see this as the second part, you can find the designers from the first part right here.

Looking at Berlin Fashion Week from a Distance

Looking at Berlin Fashion Week from a Distance

Another Fashion Week season is in the history books and with it another week that has been accompanied by bickering and ridicule about our Berlin-version of the world-wide industry event. It’s been going on for years now, it never really got better. The articles trashing it, the comments on social media making fun of it. It’s almost like a sport to spit on Berlin Fashion Week and getting high-fived for it. I personally prefer to look on the bright side: The amazing fashion talents that are presented here!

A Guide to Berlin Fashion: Fetish Edition

A Guide to Berlin Fashion: Fetish Edition

UY x Evelyn Bencicova

Did we grab your attention? In the last issue of our series A Guide to Berlin Fashion we wrote about the sporty side of style. Now we want to cover the b-side of being en vogue: fetish-inspired fashion.

In both fashion and Berlin anything is possible. What you wear is who you are and vice versa. Fashion is a part of expressing yourself and sometimes even the most private parts of your persona need to find an outlet. Let’s say you have a fetish. Let’s say for latex. To enjoy and express said fetish, you don’t want cheap, smelling rubber materials. You want high quality, prêt-à-porter pieces that combine your lust for latex and your standard of style. Well, don’t look any further, we present to you 7 of the most interesting, exclusive designers of the city with a slight love for kink. Certainly, even Anna Wintour would consider wearing some of these looks. At least in the privacy of her NY townhouse.

If you don’t entertain a specific fetish yet, we’re sure after checking out the following designers you’ll want to cultivate a kinky preference of your own. Enjoy the racy chic straight outta Berlin after the jump.

ESMOD International Fashion Show 2014 Photos

ESMOD International Fashion Show 2014 Photos

To celebrate the 20th anniversary of the ESMOD Berlin the private design school invited 10 of their most successful and celebrated graduates from all the ESMOD schools around the globe. Two very respected and celebrated labels based in Berlin opened the show and for them it was pretty much a home rum. I’m glad I got to see the rising star Marina Hoermanseder’s new collection which I missed during fashion week and also to see the new designs of August Teboul, the queens of Berlin Avant-Garde, once again. All the other designers were totally new to me and it was a little bit like a trip around the world in terms of fashion. It’s interesting to see the different styles from other countries, though not everything was really our cup of tea. We selected our favorites for you after the jump. Enjoy!
