Berlin has found its place in the global fashion circus. Not in the realm of the big four yet (New York, Paris, Mailand, London), but has made a name of itself for crazy, edgy and experimental fashion designs. No matter where, with fashion the focus mostly lies on women (for a change). However, especially Berlin offers some fine designers showcasing that there is more to menswear than pants and a T-shirt. And, that Berlin can do more than all-black-everything. Here is a collection of our favorite brands making the men of the capital look good.

The long weekend (for everybody who could take a “Brückentag) was a blast! You want to know how we made it even better? We went to the Wormland & House of Calvin Klein event and enjoyed some nice drinks, luxurious fashion, beautiful models and a charming concert by Jesper Munk. And the cherry on the cake was meeting good friends like the boys from Dandy Diary, as well as model and entrepreneur Markus. We took some photos for everybody who could not make it. Take a look at our impressions after the jump.

Finding cool elegant menswear in Berlin is a challenge all around the year. But especially in the summer when the wedding season starts I know dozens of men in the desperate situation to buy a well fitting suit that can be called fashionable and where you don’t look like you have just been at your graduation ceremony (Abifeier).
Especially for elegant menswear I think that a nice variety of choices helps you to find a better deal. And what better way to shop and stroll than while having a good drink in your hand? One of the best and well selected menswear shops in Berlin is Wormland. This Friday on May 15th 2015 they are hosting a special Calvin Klein Event with a live fashion installation, free drinks, appetizers and an exclusive concert of sexy blues singer Jesper Munk. If you want to attend please register under this link. After the jump a little preview from the music talent of Jesper Munk and the details to the event.

Berlin Fashion Week has come and already gone, which means I finally have some time to make sense of the menswear madness of this season. Men’s Fall/Winter fashion has never really been a draw at Berlin Fashion Week, but this January there were definitely a few shows who made it the perfect fashionistas catcher. From upcoming designers who raised the bar, to impeccable classic designs, and to the occasional ‘wtf?’, Berlin Fashion Week was again a great surprise. After a marathon through shows and some catching up online, I broke down the 8 Best Menswear collections that mattered most this season. Enjoy them after the jump!

It’s this time of the year where we take a little look over to yet another cool European metropolis: Paris where currently the menswear fashion week is taking place. It has become a little tradition that we show you the live stream of the runway presentation of Louis Vuitton here on iHeartBerlin.de, and this season is no exception.
While the previous womenswear show has brought us a new era of the label with the brand new creative director Nicolas Ghesquière after the departure of iconic designer Marc Jacobs, the menswear line has stuck to its current designer of recent years Kim Jones. Let’s have a look what he came up with for the Spring/Summer 2015 season after the jump. The show starts at 14:30h today.

One of the new fashion discoveries in terms of menswear that I made at the recent LNFA event at Platoon is the young streetwear label Apollo Krieg from Berlin. At first sight it looks like yet another graphic T-shirt label. They might have started as such (as so many) but are currently venturing into a full collection of clothes which looks really promissing. I personally really love their graphic T-shirts as the prints are quite cool and really hit a nerve in terms of current aesthetics. And the new collection for Spring/Summer 2014 also has some great sweaters, pants and jackets in an amazing all-over pattern print. Check out the new Apollo Krieg lookbook after the jump.

Today we are launching a new format on the blog: The Fitting Room. This new series will give us the chance to do something we have actually done for quite a while, but never really took full advantage of: Meeting designers we like in their studio and trying on their amazing clothes. But from now on, whenever we will get the chance to do this, we will bring our camera and take pictures to present you their designs here on iHeartBerlin.
We’ll start with Sopopular today, a young Berlin-based menswear label run by designer Daniel Blechman who we visted a few weeks ago in his studio in Kreuzberg. The label is in its fourth year now and has created quite the buzz with their latest Autumn/Winter 2013/14 collection titled The Wild Ones which they presented in the Studio of the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week back in January and earned great applause. For their campaign and fashion film they used some bad-boy-style tattooed models that really hit the nerve of the current fashion aesthetics. In their collection they made the smart move of combining current trends such as studs and crochet with their own unique signature silhouettes and fabric mixes. This way they created a look that is both commercially appealing while still maintaining a post-modern attitude. Enjoy the new Sopopular designs worn and photographed by Devid and me.

And again we had a little trip into the world of print publications. Suz and I wrote three little columns on different topics for the daily fashion week newspaper of BerlinFashion.TV. I had the chance to write about the topic Men and gave some insides about the new approach to male jewellery. You can find the text (in German) after the jump. Read on…
