Exploring Berlin: Hanging Out in Kreuzberg

Exploring Berlin: Hanging Out in Kreuzberg

Following the spirit of our Exploring Berlin series we want to look at another district today and show you our favorite places there. This time we chose the one that we are surrounded by the most as our office at Blogfabrik is located right in the middle of it. I’m talking about Kreuzberg of course, probably one of the most popular districts of Berlin at the moment.

People who come to Berlin just love it here. It’s buzzing and it’s relaxed at the same time. It offers everything from delicious food, compelling art, pulsating nightlife and cultural entertainment. But apart from all of that Kreuzberg is particularly good for one thing: Just hanging out and having a good time. So we drove around in the past days dropping by the most beloved hang-out spots of the Berliners and snapping some photos for you. By the way all of the photos in this feature have been taken with the new Sony Xperia Z5 smartphone (versus the Z1 or my SLR that I normally use) which is being presented at the IFA these days. But now let’s dive into our favorite places in Kreuzberg.

It is also something that you will notice in terms of nightlife. There is basically a party for every type of crowd and for every taste in music. The same goes for the bars and this is something I want to explore today.

What bar type are you? You like the classic ones with the best cocktails in the city? Or are you all about friendly and cosy atmosphere? Möbel Olfe meets Literature

Möbel Olfe meets Literature

The surroundings of Kottbusser Tor have become part of the intense nightlive and gay scene since a couple of years now. An important anchor for everything that goes on in this area is a bar called Möbel Olfe. The bar has been synonymous for sex-hungry gay bears, beer-drinking lesbians and fun-seeking expats. It might sound a bit extreme but in the end it has never disappointed me by being a relaxed and great place to hang out with my friends and meeting new people.

A while ago, when we published the Strange Magic anthology, we had a nice story from our beloved author Kevin Junk about the Strange Magic of Möbel Olfe. Now he and his author friend Chloe Zeegen have joined forces to create a unique reading night at Möbel Olfe. Both of them have a full set of amazing stories to read from about the amazing nights they spend their. More details after the jump.
