We Germans like to say: “Neues Jahr, neues Glück!” which translates to: “New year, new luck” and in this spirit I would like to start a new series on the blog where you guys can be lucky and win something fabulous every Thursday here on the blog.
I would like to start with the amazing hybrid sneakers from young Madrid and Berlin-based design studio Muro.exe. As you know I was involved in this project by hosting the launch of the label here in Berlin. Since then the sneakers have made their way around the world through numerous showrooms and magazine publications. Whenever I wear them out I get a lot of positive responses to them so apparently the design team behind Muro.exe was spot on with their amazing work. After weeks of preparations and anticipation it finally happened last night. Design studio MURO.EXE celebrated its launch and showed their collection of hybrid sneakers here in Berlin at The WYE with our support. And it was a really great nice for all of us! We had a super cool interactive color mapping video installation by Kalma and an eclectic soundscape by El Fulminador to set the right mood for the presentation an our friends from SKYY VODKA and Warsteiner supplied us with their delicious drinks. We were very pleased so many of you showed up and were so curious about the shoes that you can order online now here. The showroom is still open today from 14-19h and tomorrow from 12-17h. Last week I teased you about a story about a shoe that I’m going to tell you. And while the video I started with could be considered the teaser trailer of it, this new part of the story is somehow like a prolog.
I guess I could also just start by showing you that special shoe that this is all about. But that would not explain why I’m making such a big deal about it. You should know, Shoes and I, we go way back. In fact, shoes are probably the one element of human’s wardrobe that I am the most passionate about. I have no idea why, but when it comes to shoes I can’t contain myself. But of course not just any ordinary shoe. My specialty are very unique and extravagant shoes. You know how it is a bit more complicated for guys to dress in an interesting way as the variety of outstanding clothes in shops is just not the same as for girls. And even if I’m lucky to come by some really fancy amazing stuff for guys, very often the pieces I like the most simply don’t suit me well.
