Mykita
Nobody wants to need them but everybody likes to wear them. Glasses are possibly the most iconic accessory we can wear because eyes are everything. They can be seductive, inquisitive, friendly, stunning, hypnotic, and as they say, they are the mirrors of the soul. In fashion and film history glasses have been the protagonists of hundreds of emblematic shots. Nowadays glasses can be just another fashion accessory or essential pieces of art that represent our personalities. It’s no wonder that choosing the right piece to frame your eyes is not an easy task. To help you find those amazing glasses that fit you like a glove we have gathered brands that create the most stunning design glasses in Berlin.

On Thursday the highly anticipated Bikini Berlin opened its doors to the public after years of rennovations. What was once an old building with terrible shops is now a fancy, hipster shopping mall. Their slogan “Shop different” is really taken quite literal because this is surely not another Alexa. Instead of highstreet fashion you will find boutiques of local designers such as adddress, Umasan and Mykita, as well as concept stores with a mixed offering of international and local brands such as Acne, Stella McCartney and Esther Perbandt. You will find not only fashion but also exceptional interior design products for example in the amazing new Gestalten Gallery as well as books and selected design consumer electronics. Get a first impression with my photo set after the jump and than head over there, it’s also open on Sunday this weekend.

On Thursday a few neighboring shops on the upper Mitte part of the Brunnenstraße joined forces to celebrate Spring with a little street party. Every partaking store had something to offer, starting with drinks and a BBQ by Joris, a fashion sale at VonHey, more drinks and special deals at Pelago Bicycles, and yet another sale and more drinks at Mykita. This was only a small edition to start with, but there are so many more cool places along the street that could join in for a next edition that I hope will come around soon (hopefully while I am still living in the block). Some impressions after the jump.

During the Bernhard Willhelm collection show at Postbahnhof back in February I almost didn’t notice them, but they totally caught my attention at the showroom of Agentur V during the press days last month: The exclusive limited edition sunglasses of Mykita designed for and with Bernhard Willhelm. They are available starting on June 1st 6th for around at the Mykita flagship store here in Berlin and selected retailers. There are 3 different models and color combinations for boys and 2 for girls. Check them all out after the jump.
