No other artist in electronic music is hyped as much as Nicolas Jaar. Everyone seems to love his productions, but when it comes to the live performances of him and his band, people differ in their opinions. Some just enjoy the unique sound experience, while others are annoyed by the saxophone and miss a simple bass drum to dance to. What do you think? Check out a rare and brand new live video by Nicolas Jaar after the jump. Read on…

The style of the band Sizarr is hard to define. Their music is a combination of indie rock, world music, hip hop, r’n’b and electronica. The results are polyrhythmic songs full of harmony: There is a little bit of David Bowie, some Sufjan Stevens, but also Björk and even Jay-Z in it. This might sounds awkward, but Sizarr combine all these different styles and influences in the most harmonious way.
In our interview with Sizarr we talked about music by James Ferraro, Peter Gabriel, Wamdue Project, Kate Bush, Shlohmo and Nicolas Jaar. More after the jump.

In May, the indie pop band Still Flyin from San Francisco released their second album On A Bedroom Wall . The first thing I thought of when I heard it where The Shins and Pavement, which actually are two of my favourite bands. We also talked about these bands when I interviewed Still Flyin. Additionally, I have asked them about Nicolas Jaar and Rammstein. Check out the interview after the jump.

This sucks. Two titans are hanging out in Berlin right now – one of them A$AP Rocky, being here for a sold out show at Festsaal Kreuzberg and Nicolas Jaar, being here for the exhibition of his father, using the opportunity to play a secret gig at the same time as Rocky. No chance to get to either one of these events and the rest of the electronic crowd hangs out in Barcelona for Sonar. We offer you parties out of this special – shit – thing, decent Berlin parties for fun loving people after the jump: Read on…

We are often following the hypes of people we like. We follow the recommendations of our friends and enjoy things they like to do because in the end everything can be good and bad depending of your perspective. I heard so many beautiful stories of Nicolas Jaar concerts of people I trust blindly in their taste of music that I wanted to go in any case to the concert he was giving on Monday at Berghain. In the end I was a little disapointed. Not because it was bad, but just because it couldn’t measure up with the hype my friends build around it. For people who are less susceptible as I am I recommend definetly to check out one of his concerts for example tonight at Berghain.
