International travel videographer Alex Soloviev has already blessed us with his two stunning Berlin travel videos The Inner Layer and Everyday Berlin. Now, on the quite sad occasion of the fire at Notre-Dame, he released a beautiful tribute video of the French Icon that he shot on the roof of the famous church – a place that is probably not going to be accessible for years to come. From here you see those parts of the church that were probably the most destroyed by the devastating fire earlier this week.
As shocking as the fire and its damages to the beloved building were – it’s a relieve to know that it was not completely lost and can be rebuilt again. In Berlin, most of our major sights were also quite heavily destroyed by fires at some point in the past – for buildings this old it’s just always gonna be a part of their history.

Have you noticed anything new on the city’s walls recently? While strolling around Berlin, we keep bumping into these mysterious, eyeless ladies and gentlemen, giving us the sense of being spied on and maybe judged at the same time, for not looking as cool as them.
We couldn’t help but wonder who scatters these stylish figures around different corners of the city. Doing our little research, we found the art duo who spreads the acrylic love around, Kam and Laurene, who live between Paris and Berlin. Other than their street art, the duo paints on canvas and takes part in exhibitions with their work, as well as collaborations with brands like the Pioc and Akasha. For more of these pretty figures, follow their work through their Instagram account.

Paris, Berlin and Moscow are three cities that are substantially different, but they do have some things in common. They are places that are in motion and constant evolution. Paris-Berlin-Moscow is an international project that offers a contemporary view of the artistic creation in those three cities. It brings together multi-disciplinary work by artists from these cities showing the parallels, similarities and differences of these places. After the jump we want to present you a part of the Berlin-themed works from a couple of young photographers who captured their visions of Berlin.
Their work will be shown in the Berlin leg of the exhibition of the same name that accompanies the project and will take place in all three cities. It will open tonight and will run from April 13 – 19, 2015 in the SMAC gallery in Mitte.

The days are getting shorter, it’s cold outside and we are facing at least three months of Berlin winter.
So a few weeks back, I jumped to the opportunity of a little getaway weekend in France. A couple of days in Paris and a few relaxing nights in Deauville near the ocean sounded simply perfect. Little did I know about all the extravaganza the tiny village had in store for me, even a piece of Berlin crossed my path on the nomadic coast… Read on…

You open your eyes. And the first thing you see is a poster of Venice. You ask yourself every time why somebody chose such a kitschy poster to hang over that chair.
If you were in Venice right now, it would be embarrassing to send a postcard with that picture to your loved ones.
But when you lie in that bed, in which you sleep a few nights every year, you are happy about that yellowed sunset over the Rialto Bridge.
Because you know that if you are in Venice, you are in Paris.

It’s this time of the year where we take a little look over to yet another cool European metropolis: Paris where currently the menswear fashion week is taking place. It has become a little tradition that we show you the live stream of the runway presentation of Louis Vuitton here on iHeartBerlin.de, and this season is no exception.
While the previous womenswear show has brought us a new era of the label with the brand new creative director Nicolas Ghesquière after the departure of iconic designer Marc Jacobs, the menswear line has stuck to its current designer of recent years Kim Jones. Let’s have a look what he came up with for the Spring/Summer 2015 season after the jump. The show starts at 14:30h today.

One of the biggest – if not the THE biggest – highlights of the fashion world is happening today at 10:06h in the morning: The womenswear fashion show of Louis Vuitton for Autumn/Winter 2014-15 in Paris. The LV shows are not simply runway shows, they are spectacles with big impressive sets, stunning designs and the creme de la creme of celebrities in the front row. If you don’t believe me head over to Dazed Digital that have some wonderful photos of the last show that had glamorous escalators, a mary-go-round and a fountain. Of course it’s super hard to get a ticket, that’s why Louis Vuitton is also streaming the show live on their website as well as on a small selection of blogs such as ours. So if you want to be amazed by the latest Vuitton show, look no further than behind the jump for the live stream.

One of the major perks of running a blog such as this is the opportunity to travel to different places and meet interesting new people. I feel it’s such a privilege and I am so blessed everytime I have the chance to enjoy it. Earlier this year I took some short trips to the beautiful city of love – Paris – courtesy of French label Paco Rabanne. I was invited to experience the launch of their new menswear fragrance Invictus that will be released next month. As the campaign was pretty much a big secret I couldn’t really reveal anything about my trips other than a few Instagram shots. But now the lid has been lifted…
Read more about the elaborate campaign of Invictus by Paco Rabanne, its involvement with 7 different athletes from all over the world, how I created my own perfume and what my and Berlin’s role in this is going to be, after the jump.
