The looming arrival of the heatwave has the people talking about literally nothing else than how they could possibly escape from it. One thing every conversation about it seems to have in common is that no-one is planning to go to the office. Well, we’ll see how many bosses will have mercy on their employees in these special circumstances.

Summer is in full bloom, and finally you can enjoy the weekends in the warm sun. What could be better than to get yourself an aperitif after a stressful week and experience the Italian feeling?
Traditionally in Italy, wonderful late afternoons are spent with friends in a bar, drinking a cold Negroni and eating delicious snacks. For such offerings we already introduced you to the Bar Milano in Berlin Mitte and now we want to expand on our recommendations and share a way for a sparkling start to Saturdays.
The event series Aperitivo a Berlino ties in with the beloved Italian tradition. It all started with two boys from Berlin who invited some friends and acquaintances to Sale e Tabacchi and had a great evening of drinking various aperitifs and eating small Italian appetizers. Now as the Italian afternoon is becoming increasingly popular, the Aperitivo has been moving around to several places such as Bar Milano (on vacation till September) and currently takes place on a wonderful rooftop on Linienstrasse in Berlin Mitte. See more details and have a look at the pictures from last time after the jump.

The Ngoro Ngoro group exhibition curated by Christian Achenbach, Jonas Burgert, Zhivago Duncan, Andreas Golder, John Isaacs and David Nicholson that took place in a huge art space in Weißensee was probably the most impressive event during the Gallery Weekend Berlin. The exhibition was made with so much love, there was so much to discover in several halls and buildings, and the atmosphere in the yard with the bars and the pool was so lovely that it was really inviting to stay there the entire weekend. It felt almost like a little art festival. If you missed the show, don’t be sad, we have lots of impressions for you after the jump. And one of the shows will still be open until May 22, 2015.

Tonight you’ll get a taste of fresh indie pop from Hamburg live at the Fête de la Musique. The three guys from Pool have made a few rounds at several festivals in the past years including Melt!, South by Southwest, Fusion and the Reeperbahn Festival and now they are finally releasing their debut album Snacks & Supplies on April 24, 2015 which is gonna be a perfect soundtrack for the upcoming summer. The upbeat record is showing guitar pop from Germany at its best with catchy tunes and a down-to-earth attitude. The new video for the first single State of Mind is a little short film with a modern day Bonnie and Clyde story. Too bad the boys from the band are not in it because they are quite the eye candy. Let’s look at some photos of them and enjoy the video after the jump. And go check them out live on Sunday June 21, 2015 at 18:30h at the Fête de la Musique special at Dussmann!

A few weeks ago I had the chance to join a portfolio photo shooting with a few of the pieces by Berlin based designer duo JULIAANDBEN. The shoot took place in a really interesting location: An old public pool that is now used as a camping side. Look after the jump for some backstage impressions.

My first thoughts when I considered going to the Le Petit Pö pool party at the Bar 25 Spa were that a) I should not have any kind of cake for breakfast on Sunday and b) that I should go to the gym before. Well, too bad that the Cupcake Lady decided to give me some cheesecake and banana bread for free that morning, just to torture me. She knows I won’t say no. And secondly what was I expecting to change with one day at the Gym? Well, at least I went…
So, at the party we got what the flyer promised. Sexy people splashing in the pool, a champagne bar, a BBQ and a cute little dancefloor with Disco music. Some more impressions after the jump. They involve some raunchy positions…
