Berlin is, among else, a designer’s paradise. Like its people, Berlin’s interiors are just as diverse, with style that’s hard to pin down. The influences come from everywhere: from full-on kitsch, to industrial details, or the much beloved Scandinavian minimalism, the city is full of Tumblr looking interiors, always ready to pose for our #interior Instagram posts. The Amazing Crocodile, one of the most striking interior design stores in Berlin, is full of fun, elegant objects for all tastes, and a must when hunting for stunning pieces to make your living space come alive!

Mitte has a fabulous new place for coffee at Rosa-Luxemburg-Straße. But Type Hype is not just about coffee, even tough theirs is really nice. The new concept store by the label of the same name is specialized in typography-related product design, so you will find things such as pillows, posters, wine bottles, mugs and stationary with big letters in different styles on it. Such a simple idea, but the design is so contemporary and clever that you just want to stack up on the A, B and Cs and decorate your home with it. By the way, you can only see a small selection of the width of products and letters in the shop. On the Type Hype website you can get much more as well as order sets of products with your own letter combinations. Get some first impressions of the beautiful shop after the jump along with the details.

Oh, don’t you just love it, when something pops up? Like a message on Skype by someone you care for, or an ad in your browser that says you just won an iPhone, or an opportunity to make out with someone hot, or… the possibilities are endless.
In the case of this little story we are talking about the popping up of a temporary store, specifically one that sells Original Penguin clothing, hence its name: The Original Penguin Pop-up Store. Hurray! It will pop open its dolly little doors this Saturday at 18h next to/withinside the freshly opened Trüffelschwein menswear store at Rose-Luxemburg-Strasse that has recently moved into a new bigger place across the street and is therefore also worth a visit. Pop by for drinks and music and some silly handclapping! The invite after the jump.

When I saw these photographs by Paris-based artist Neil Atherton I was instantly taken back into my childhood in the GDR. The photos were probably not even taken there, but they do remind me of the time. The architecture, the greyness, the open spaces. The faded colors and the speckles just make the feeling of melancholic nostalgia even more perfect.
This Thursday Atherton opens his exhibition Speckled at the brand new shop and gallery The Early Bird Hype at Rosa-Luxemburg-Strasse. Details after the jump.

Two days ago I received an email that shocked me. The Belleville in Mitte which carries labels like Rozab del Mura, Bo Van Melskens, airbag and FIN among others is closing down. Having moved in there for a month in June during SUKA SUKA, I felt a * Thud * as I read Fredericke’s email.
Call it what you want and blame it on the rain or the ‘Financial Crisis’, the debateable bad location, or a store that after 5 years, simply wasn’t able to keep the Benjamin’s flowing, that jet-black bird is taking off (if you’ve been to the store, you’ll know what I mean). So starting September 1st til the 30th a ‘Last Days Clearance Sale‘ on pretty much everything in the store, allows you the chance to shop while you pay your last respects. As long as it doesn’t hold up the foundations of the store, then it’s for sale. Bye-bye Belleville, you’ll be missed. Details after the click.
