I kept hearing so much about Dudu I just had to check it out! The Asian Fusion restaurant is located at Torstr. near Rosenthaler Platz in Mitte, with a newly opened second location in Charlottenburg. People are so crazy about it that reservations are necessary most of the time. I tried the beef dish Kuh Auf der Weide which was really awesome and I like the rice that has a hint of coconut. Details and more photos after the jump.

The Transit at Ostkreuz has been my favorite restaurant in quite some time. It is not only really nicely decorated with all those colorful birdcages hanging from the ceiling (don’t worry, they don’t have roasted canaries on the menu), it also has the most delicious Thai dishes that you can get in Friedrichshain. And what is special about it: They serve all their tasty little dishes in small portions for 3 EUR each. This way you can stack your table full of things and everyone can get a taste of everything. A bit like tapas, only better tasting. Oh and the coco panna cotta with mango sauce is a MUST HAVE. Now that I think of it, I feel like having it today… But as I don’t live in Friedrichshain anymore I would probably head to the second Transit at Rosenthaler Platz. More photos and details after the jump.

The little cafe Fleury at Weinbergsweg has been around for a while. But it only got to my attention when I moved to the Prenzlauer Berg – Mitte area last summer. Since then it has become one of my favorite places to have cake and coffee or breakfast. They really have one of the best breakfasts that you can get (for under 10 EUR). It’s my absolute favorite. Try the Chevre Chaud salade, the mixed breakfast or the Croque Monsineur (which is better than in any place in Paris). The use only high quality ingredients which sets this place apart from any other breakfast cafe in the neighborhood and the best thing: They serve breakfast all day long, perfect for long sleepers such as myself. And in the summer (dreaming of it right now…) I love to get a rhubarb tarte and rhubarb spritzer and enjoy it on a blanket at the Weinbergspark around the corner (you could totally paint an impressionist picture of that…). Impressions and details after the jump.

“Schuster, bleib bei deinen Leisten” is a German proverb meaning “you better stick to what you’re best at”. In the case of this fine boutique at Rosenthaler Platz it is definately selecting cool brands and great shoes for our consuming pleasure. Hurrah! I have been walking past (and into) Shusta now quite frequently since it’s opening. For some reason I never came around writing about it. But since a friend of mine bought this fabulous backpack there it popped back into my conscience and now up on this blog. Hurray! Brands featured in their selection include Royal RepubliQ, Striipe, Keds, Schmoove, Dico, Atelier do Sapato, as well as the bags of Waste and many more. More images and details after the shoe lace.
