On Wednesday this year’s Instagram exhibition by Samsung opened in Bikini Berlin; this time with the theme “360°” which was reflected in various forms. The works of 20 talented German Instagrammers can be admired here until the 5th of September 2016. The theme 360° is recognizable in all images. The Samsung Snapshooters were free to interpret it however they wanted to, so they the theme was treated in quite diverse ways in the photos. For four works there are also 360° videos available, which you can watch with the Gear VR headset; they demonstrate how the respective photos were taken.
During the exhibition that was curated by Joachim Baldauf, we talked with two of the exhibited Instagrammers about the new 360° technology and the Instagram community. Some of the impressions we got from the Galaxy Gallery 360 Exhibition and our interview with Konrad Langer (@konaction) and Thomas Kakareko (@thomas_k) can be found below.

Photography has changed significantly over the course of the last couple of years. Instagram had a huge impact on it bringing mobile photography to the next level and new emerging technology such as the 360° cameras that entered the market and VR headsets are changing it now even more. Photography is becoming more and more participative, interactive and immersive. The viewer gets involved in the final results in a way that wasn’t possible a few years ago. You can now interact with the photos and photographers in different ways, become part of a community, experience individual pictures as a part of something larger. Especially on Instagram this has become an important part of the concept of photography. It has managed to lift mobile photography from a hobby to a profession and made photographers the new stars of our generation.
Samsung is pushing this new side of photography even further by making the world of Instagrammers accessible to their fans offline in the form of a live exhibition that was happening here in Berlin in the summer of 2016. They teamed up with some of the most talented photographers from their Samsung Snapshooter Program to create an exhibition that was entirely shot with the Samsung Galaxy S7 and S7 edge. Curated by star photographer Joachim Baldauf the work of Instagrammers such as thomas_k, konaction, urbanentdecker_, loewe7, aguynamedriadh, helinbereket, juancamiloberlin, muenchmax, widenka and many more was exhibited as beautiful prints.

The future is not as complicated and overly technological and dehumanized as predicted in all the sci-fi movies we used to watch as kids in the 90s. On the contrary: the technological innovations of our daily lives are user-centered, human-friendly and resourceful. You can observe how the future becomes a glimpse more simple every day. At least if you follow the vision of high-tech design brand Samsung.
On the occasion of the launch of their newest home product, the Samsung AddWash, the brand just opened a pop-up shop with a unique concept in Berlin. From outside the Samsung AddWash store looks like the fanciest laundromat in town. But on display is not just any washing machine. The Samsung AddWash is redefining the design and functions of your usual laundry with innovative features, like an extra door where you can add on products during the cleaning process. With a Smart Home-App you can also always check the status of your laundry.
The exclusive pop-up concept store was curated in cooperation with iGNANT, and will feature products from acclaimed design brands like Lyon Beton, a French studio that specializes in the design and production of concrete furniture, the interior design studio 10119DESIGN, who create a crazy mix between 20th century furniture icons and young design from Berlin, and Italian bath design studio Boffi. We are super curious to see what the teams of Samsung and put together and look forward to get in touch with this special home design revolution. More impressions of the shop and the opening times after the jump. Read on…

When it comes to Fashion Week you have two choices: Be a good fashion blogger and rush to all the shows and write about the collections later. Or you can skip the hassle of the shows and enjoy all the relaxed side events taking place all over town with free drinks, snacks and other amenities.
The Samsung Fashion Cool Downer at the #Inland pop-up shop offered exactly this last Thursday and I was happy to drop by to cool down a bit and enjoy some Thomas Henry cocktails and Glacéau vitaminwater. At the event I was once more educated about the coolness of Scandinavian fashion with the #Inland showroom presentation of a group of Finish designers who make amazing fashion and clever products. The collaboration with the Samsung Food Showcase also introduced the terminoligy “kitchenista” to me which pretty much means that you do not only use your fridge for food but also for make-up and lotions as well as leather and cashmere goods which apparently keeps them look fresh and new. The huge deluxe refridgerator offers lots of space for exactly that in their practical showcase shelf in the double door. Nifty!
The #Inland showroom has now turned into a proper shop once the Fashion Week was over, so now the general public can shop some great Finish design and check out the fancy Samsung Food Showcase until the end of August. Some impressions after the jump.

In their latest episode of the web-tv show Recreate Berlin the guys from Vice have finally arrived in my favorite dictrict of Berlin: Mitte. This time the task of the Galaxy Note Lab was to repaint Mitte. I really enjoyed how workshop leader Clé gives some insights about the development of district that are beyond the typical touristic and commercial hotspots while the participants get creative with the photos they have captured at places such as the Circle Culture Gallery at Gipsstraße. Have a look at the video after the jump.
