Spring is coming. The last weekend was beautifully sunny and we have hopefully survived another Berlin Winter without big snow storms, glacier-sidewalks or other inconveniences. A good reason to put back the Winter boots back in the closet and get your colorful sneakers out. If you are still looking for the right pair of urban footwear we have one shop recommendation that probably every sneaker fetishist knows by heart. OVERKILL Berlin is more then just a shop: it is a footwear institution. Located directly at Schlesisches Tor, in Berlin Kreuzberg it brings you the most innovative and diverse selection of urban sneakers, street wear and graffiti. The store also sells all kind of creative material fitting in the street art subculture as pens and spray cans and other graffiti material. But even if you are not so much into the whole sneaker thing visiting OVERKILL is quite interesting for its interior design created by the studio plus4930 Architektur.
Do you still need a good reason to check it out? This Friday the 20.2 they are going to have an exclusive Diadora shoe presentation in store with free drinks and nice appetizers. I remember the Italian sportswear brand Diadora from my first track suits I got from my Italian part of the family. They will relaunch their 90’s cult-sneaker collection called N9000 LIVE which is a really great collection of running sneakes. We will give away two pairs of shoes to our readers directly at the event. To find out how to win them check out the rest of the article and the video to the shoes after the jump.

Mitte has a fabulous new place for coffee at Rosa-Luxemburg-Straße. But Type Hype is not just about coffee, even tough theirs is really nice. The new concept store by the label of the same name is specialized in typography-related product design, so you will find things such as pillows, posters, wine bottles, mugs and stationary with big letters in different styles on it. Such a simple idea, but the design is so contemporary and clever that you just want to stack up on the A, B and Cs and decorate your home with it. By the way, you can only see a small selection of the width of products and letters in the shop. On the Type Hype website you can get much more as well as order sets of products with your own letter combinations. Get some first impressions of the beautiful shop after the jump along with the details.

If there is one thing Berlin is full of and loved for it’s the tons of amazing Street Art and murals on the bare walls of its buildings. Especially districts like Kreuzberg, as well as all the abandoned industrial buildings along the Spree are covered with art and through that repuprosed from ruins to canvases. The only downside: You can’t exactly buy these amazing artworks for your living room. Well, most of them you can’t. But still there are a range of interesting products themed or focused on street art such as books, calendars, stickers and art prints, even some fashion items. For my first own collection on eBay Today I collected some of these products for you to have a look. More about it after the jump.

Only a few months ago the lower end of the Weinbergsweg at Rosenthaler Platz got a brand spanking new fashion store called Superconscious. I was quite surprised to see something new pop up in this area as this street is mostly filled up with quite established bussinesses that never seem to change. But here we go, hello newbie!
I pressed my nose against the window of the interesting looking space quite a few times before I finally went in during their opening hours. It turned out to be more than I expected. The store is particularily interesting for men, even though they also have some womenswear. The selection of brands is what makes it so appealing for me: Unlike comparable shops like SoTo and Civilist this place has mostly upcoming street wear brands with different styles while maintaining a similar aesthetic. I’m always interested in labels that are either brand new or not so overly popular, so this is just my cup of tea. And I did sip of that tea quite a bit lately 😉 You’ll find great pieces by The Hentsch Man, Enclave, Topo Design, Muttonhead, Sheriff & Cherry and many more.
Get some impressions of the store after the jump and do drop by at Weinbergsweg 22.

“Wunderkammer” (chamber of wonders) is the name of a new shop in Kreuzberg, and this name could not have been chosen more adequately. As soon as you enter it, you somehow enter another world: a world that is full of magic and wonder. Find out more about this treasure chest after the jump.

Fashion Week has a problem with time. For a few minutes people are wearing clothes on the catwalk that will actually exist in one year’s time. Artistic design vision whos consumable reality will happen only in the future. This year there will be another fashionable time-absurdity. In the closed shop of a deceased grandmother on a Spanish island, a Berlin couple found a real treasure. Giant amount of coats, suits, blouses and skirts from the 60s and 70s, everything in mint condition and with tags. That this treasure not only has historical value, but also a financial one will be proved by the Vintage Love Pop-Up Store which opens during this Fashion Week. After the jump you can find out where it is located and when it is open.

Last Saturday Berlin has increased about 20% in terms of coolness with the opening of the new Pastpresent store at Köpenickerstr. 96. The beautiful black store features mainly the menswear labels Livio and 24/7 Suits, but also has a few other accessorie labels like Moga E Mago that premiered on the Designer Scouts runway only 2 months ago.
We were especially thrilled by the extensive selection of hats. I actually found so many nice pieces that it really hurt that I had already spent all my money in London… After the jump you’ll find impressions from the opening and the details.

I love a pop, and even better: a pop-up shop. The online vintage boutique Das Neue Schwarz is just doing that these days at Mulackstrasse in Mitte. How practical that you can now get your fingers on their selected fine designer vintage goods before you buy them. They do not only carry formerly unaffordable pieces by Helmut Lang, YSL, MMM, Prada Escada and Balenciaga, but also clothes by avant-garde heroes like Bernhard Willhelm, C.Neeon and Ann Demeulemeester. Nice. Details after the jump.
