Continuing my story about our campaign for the Ehe für Alle organization together with SKYY Vodka I would like to present you today with the results of a photo shoot and interview we did with some of my dear colleagues from the world of blogs and Instagram. We designed a T-shirt that is calling for support from our straight friends and family members in our fight for marriage equality and other causes important to the LGBTQ community. We gave these shirts to a group of fellow bloggers and Instagrammers so they can spread our message to their fans and followers. We asked Joseph Wolfgang Ohlert to take some photos of them with the shirts. He’s one of our favorite Berlin photographers who we have featured multiple times here on iHeart over the years with his amazing analog portraits and who has empowered the LGBTQI community with his book Gender is a Spectrum. Today we want to share with you the beautiful results of our shoot.
We also asked all of them what their position is on the campaign, on the involvement of a brand like SKYY Vodka and what they think the next big steps should be now that marriage equality has been introduced. Their answers were so strong and beautiful that we want to share them with you as well. Thanks to everyone who participated, especially to the Ehe für Alle initiative and all the organizations that are part of it who fought hard for marriage equality to become a reality in Germany.

When I talk about the fact that I got married in Argentina last year one of the most likely questions I will get is why I didn’t get married here in Germany. The answer to that is quite simple: Because it wasn’t legally possible. It doesn’t matter if the person who asks me this is German or not they are always surprised by this. It’s incredible how many people are not aware that we don’t have marriage equality in Germany.
When SKYY Vodka approached me recently and asked me to participate in their “One Generation forward” campaign about diversity and equality it felt only natural to me to take a stand for marriage equality because I too have felt affected by discrimination of the law against same-sex couples, and several of my friends have too. So we teamed up with Sören from the organization Ehe für Alle who has been at the forefront in the fight for marriage equality and cooked up something together. And as life is always full of surprises everything took an unexpected turn about 2 weeks ago…

If there’s one thing I absolutely love about this city it’s the fact that so many young creative people are living here who make amazing beautiful things. Artists, writers, musicians, designers, you name it, Berlin has them. Timm Süssbrich is one of those young talents in the city. He started his fashion label Barre Noire only a few years ago but has already made it quite far: He won several awards, made it to the official runway of the Berlin Fashion Week, and even got into a fashion program on mainstream television.
As his next trick he is now designing garments inspired by you. By whom? Yes, by you! Together with SKYY VODKA he is calling for submissions of creative moodboards and collages through Instagram that he will take as an inspiration to design unique pieces for the best entries. So if you always wanted to have your own individual design from the hands of a hot new designer this is your chance. Find out how to take part and see the latest Barre Noire collection after the jump.

On Friday the big SKYY VODKA SWAP MARKET event took place and iHeartBerlin’s sister project Designer Scouts was once again part of it. We welcomed this highest amount of guests this year at Stadtbad Oderberger and had a blast with the DJ set of Bonnie Strange. All proceeds that we generated will be donated to the Berliner Aids-Hilfe e.V. charity organization. Fashion for charity! Thanks to hosts Dawid Tomaszewski and Bonnie Strange and all the designers who donated their fresh designs and of course to all the guests who swapped and partied with us! Enjoy the impressions of the night by Nils Krüger and myself after the jump.

Last Friday my partner Gina and I hosted another one of our Designer Scouts events, for the second time now during the Press Days. With the special event we launched this year’s collaboration with long-term partner SKYY VODKA. It’s now the fourth year that we will be hosting the SKYY VODKA SWAP MARKET happening in late summer. But this year the swapping will not only take place during one event in Berlin, it will happen throughout the whole year all over Germany. SKYY VODKA teamed up with numerous magazines to raffle off many small private swaps taking place in the homes of the lucky winners who will not only get all the equipment they need for the swap party, but also ingredients for delicious cocktails and amazing designer pieces.
Just like the big SKYY VODKA SWAP MARKET the private swaps will also get designer hosts, for this season we’ve selected the sustainable labels Ica Watermelon and Anne Gorke and the avant-garde labels Franziska Michael and Julia Heuse. Those four designer hosts were introduced at the event on Friday with three stunning fashion presentations and one amazing fashion film. At the exclusive pre-swap we also had a couple of outfits by them as well as from Weekday and Front Row Society. Stay tuned to the SKYY VODKA facebook page to find our more about the private swaps.
Thanks to SKYY VODKA for the long collaboration, to our designers for their great presentations and film, to everyone involved in the making of this event and to our partner uber who supplied an exlcusive limousine service for our guests. The impressions of the opening event after the jump on 3 pages.

On August 24th it’s time for another SKYY VODKA SWAP MARKET. The big fashion event is now already in its fourth year and once again vintage and fashion lovers will go crazy swapping their vintage pearls and also getting their hands on some brand new designer clothes. And all this for a good cause, as all the proceeds of the event will be donated to the charity organization Berliner Aids-Hilfe e.V., so this time you don’t have to feel guilty for having another drink.
From August 9th till 23rd you will be able to submit your own high quality vintage clothes, design objects, accessories, books and records to the SKYY SWAP SPOT in exchange for a swap voucher. At the SKYY VODKA SWAP MARKET on August 24th at Café Moskau you will receive tokens for your voucher. Those you can use to “buy” other vintage clothes, brand new designer pieces, cocktails or to donate. If you don’t have enough tokens or if you didn’t submit anything, you can also buy them for real money. Remember, all proceeds will be donated, so be generous! After the swapping there will be a big party that is not to be missed! The details and impressions from the previous SKYY VODKA SWAP MARKET after the jump.
