The beloved cozy Christmas atmosphere with all its lights, markets and holiday feels are gone, even the excitement and glitter of New Year’s Eve has faded. The new year leaves us longing for more happy celebrations, but instead, gloomy January has taken their place to spread his dreaded winter blues. I can’t tell you how bad it gets to me, every time. Since I was very quickly over Netflix and couch after the fourth night in the row, I thought about what other activities in Berlin could brighten up this dark January. So this list goes out to everyone suffering from the January blues – let’s get off the couch and have some fun!

We all know how special Berlin is: this city has an incredible history, an amazing culture, an exciting nightlife, a distinctive architecture and so much more.
But when it is about describing its weather, it is not possible to lie: it can be bad for half of the year.
Moreover, winter is coming, namely the time of the year in which the greyness of the city reaches its high and we can easily get moody and gloomy. I do not exaggerate when I say that I would prefer to hibernate in my WG awaiting the next cheerful season, instead of strolling around the city with the freezing Berlin cold.
A lot of the big cities of this world are known for their fast pace and stressfulness – not so Berlin. Here we like a more calm and relaxed lifestyle and we like to use every opportunity to come down and forget about our daily grind. Maybe it’s also because we have some amazing options in terms of wellness places that makes us so relaxed. In this spirit, we want to introduce some of our favourite destinations of beauty and wellness in Berlin. With these yoga studios, spas, gardens, salons and holistic retreats, you can easily escape the busy metropolis for a while, clear your mind and find tranquility. One of the countries that has always been on my list of places to travel to is Norway. I’ve so far only been to Sweden, which I really enjoyed, but I had heard such nice things about Norway that I was very eager to find out how it is. So when my travel buddy Katja from Travelettes invited me to join her on a trip to Geilo in Norway I was more than happy to say yes. (Btw. it’s pronounced Yeay-low.)
With our bags packed with snow suits and thick sweaters we fly to Oslo a few weeks ago to start our trip with some nice city impressions. Oslo is a really charming city, even though it’s not that big, it seems very modern and young and has a wonderfully welcoming vibe and lots of interesting people to meet. After explosing the city for about a day we took the train to Geilo, which is pretty central in the country. Of course the journey through the landscapes of Norway was already a highlight. But of course Geilo had plenty of things to discover for us including amazing slopes, countless hiking opportunities, ice fishing, relaxing spas and much more. Enjoy my my impressions of the trip.

My first thoughts when I considered going to the Le Petit Pö pool party at the Bar 25 Spa were that a) I should not have any kind of cake for breakfast on Sunday and b) that I should go to the gym before. Well, too bad that the Cupcake Lady decided to give me some cheesecake and banana bread for free that morning, just to torture me. She knows I won’t say no. And secondly what was I expecting to change with one day at the Gym? Well, at least I went…
So, at the party we got what the flyer promised. Sexy people splashing in the pool, a champagne bar, a BBQ and a cute little dancefloor with Disco music. Some more impressions after the jump. They involve some raunchy positions…
