tape.tv Party at Smart Urban Stage

Friday night we crashed the tape.tv party at the Smart Urban Stage to warm-up for a long night of parties. The party had a very unusual dress code, everyone had to wear white overalls which were handed out at the entrance. To make these outfits more fashionable and individual the creative types decorated their overalls with the tape.tv tape in the shape of other outfits. Smart! The party was also soaked in soap bubbles. Some party gimmicks never get old. More bubbles and tape after the jump.

(PS: Please don’t look all too long at the animation of the bubble-eating Dandy above, it will drive you crazy after a while!!)

tape.tv Relaunch

tape.tv relaunch

Last Thursday Berlin-based online music channel tape.tv celebrated the relaunch of its new version. I have been a viewer of tape.tv from early on so to me it was not news that tape.tv is the future and in terms of music publication more important than the online formats of MTV and other music channels. For one month users can test the new version in a beta release and after that it will go public with many new features. The party that took place in the office loft in Weißensee was a fun get together of music and lifestyle bloggers and other media folks with a concert of Timid Tiger. Some impressions of the evening after the jump.

Music Television re-invented

The Makers: Interview with tape.tv creator Conrad Fritzsch

The non-stop music channel MTV Music that you can receive digitally is an ok substitute, but when you have that running in the background you get the feeling that they are playing the same videos over and over again. Stumbling upon tape.tv a few month back was somehow like finding the holy grail. Here I found a seemingly endless number of music videos played in a row. And not only the mainstream stuff, also some undiscovered pearls that make the whole thing worth while. You can even influence the playlist by entering an artist or genre that you like.

We’ve met up with Conrad Fritzsch, the founder of tape.tv, and talked to him about music, television and Berlin. More of that after the jump.
