I have been planning to do this for a while now but simply didn’t find the time. But finally with the help of another night shift here it is: Our new Weekly Event Guide. Of course we have noticed that our Thursday’s Party Guide has become one of the most popular posts here and many people ask us what to do in Berlin during the week. So I hope this new guide will give you inspiration on how to spend your week. This first edition is dominated by all the art events taking place this week.  See for yourself after the jump. Read on…

Taschen Store Berlin

Taschen Store Berlin

A few weeks ago I was awaken by a load thump coming from the living room. When I went over I saw in terror that my original signed copy of the Heaven and Hell book by David LaChapelle had fallen off my shelf and broken apart. You heard right, the book is so heavy that it broke apart on its impact. The outer box is totally trashed and the book inside has some dents and bruises now. Did I mention it was a signed copy? I think I did…

Anyways, the Warehouse Sale that will start tomorrow and will go through Saturday here at the newly opened Taschen Store at Friedrichsstrasse gives me hope of at least getting another intact box. After the jump you’ll find the details and a juicy picture of Benedikt Taschen posing with the Big Penis Book at the big opening party a few weeks ago.

Berlin. Portrait of A City – The Biggest Berlin Book Ever!

Berlin. Portrait of A City – The Biggest Berlin Book Ever!

Taschen is one of our favorite publishers in Germany, no wonder they have one of the best Berlin books out! And this one is probably also the biggest and most heavy Berlin book that I have ever seen. Berlin – Portrait of a City is a massive photographic study about the history of Berlin, edited by Hans Christian Adam. The 700 pages feature amazing photos by Henri Cartier-Bresson, Helmut Newton, René Burri, Robert Capa, Friedrich Seidenstücker, and Wolfgang Tillmans, as well as comments and quotes by Vladimir Nabokov, Marlene Dietrich, Max Schmeling, Willy Brandt, and David Bowie. This book is a must have for every Berlin friend. See more images from the book after the jump.
