The Coolest Bitches of 2012

The Coolest Bitches of 2012

Most blogs take the final days of the year as an opportunity to recycle their favorite articles of the year. We’ve opeted for another kind of retrospective, and it’s not really about us, but about people who have impressed us this year, more specifically the strong and beautiful women that we have been lucky to cross paths with. Enjoy our parade of the Coolest Bitches of 2012 and why we love them, after the jump.

15 years of Galeries Lafayette Berlin

THE RIO GIRLS

photos by Katja Hentschel

This past Saturday the Galeries Lafayette Berlin celebrated their 15th anniversary with a big fashion show and party. There was a lot of champagne and birthday cake involved, so obviously I had to be there. The fashion show was curated by numorous celebraties and creative people from the city who each had to pick 3 outfits from the fashion store. Katja from Travelettes put together some absolutely charming outfits for a modern and chic traveling woman. And The Rio Girls sexed up the whole show with their scandalous glamrock styles. More impressions of the runway and the party after the jump.

This week is one of those versatile affairs again. We have two very interesting photography exhibitions opening by Berlin-based talents Sascha Weidner and Maxime Ballesteros, and the rest of the week is dominated by very participative events: Sew a dress at a DIY party, climb into an interactive installation at an indie-game party, prepare an amazing dish at a cooking party, and make your own costume for a masked ball. This and much more after the jump.

Did the photos from Myanmar get you in the right mood for your next vacation? They sure did for me! If you are already dreaming about your next trip, but don’t really know how to finance it, then you should look around your wardrobe and appartment and see what pieces of all your lovely belongings could be transformed into vacation money. Then book a booth at the next Travelettes Fleamarket that will take place on Sunday May 8th and your flight funding is practically secured. More details after the jump.

The Travelettes Christmas Market

My dear friend Katja is organizing her second fleamarket with her Travelettes girls at Dr. Pong on the 19th of December. Due to the season it’s going to be a Christmas market and in addition to their vintage treasures and fleamarket goods every seller has to bake a traditional Christmas treat from a country  of their choice. The proceeds of these baked goods will then be donated to a charity that gives presents to children who wouldn’t get any otherwise. Now that’s what I call Christmas spirit! If you would also like to sell your clothes and goods on the market there are still spots available. Details after the jump.

My good friend and talented photographer Katja Hentschel is organizing a very special fleamarket for women who are trying to generate some cash for their next vacation. The Travelettes Fleamarket is going to take place at Dr. Pong on July 4 close to Mauerpark. So far some really interesting women have booked a booth (it’s free!) but there are still some open spots for those who want to sell their vintage goods. If you still need some inspiration and advice for your next trip you should check out Travelettes. Details after the jump.
