Berlin Jewellery by Gabriel Urist for Voo Store

Berlin Jewellery by Gabriel Urist for Voo Store

While the designers of the Pulsader pendant have chosen a quite subliminal way to create a cool, Berlin-themed necklace New York-based jewellery maker Gabriel Urist is a bit more in-your-face with his new Berlin collection that he designed specifically for the Voo Store. His series of necklaces and rings simply spell out the name of our great city in plain bold letters – minimal, but straight to the point effective. If you’re a Berlin lover, you can’t go wrong with this. And if you want it a little less obvious you can also choose the heart that is shaped by two hands, which is also quite cute. Have a closer look at the pieces after the jump. All of the pieces are available at Voo Store at Oranienstr. 24 in Kreuzberg.

Toilet Paper Magazine & MSGM mixing Art and Fashion

Toilet Paper Magazine & MSGM mixing Art and Fashion

The Italian Toilet Paper Magazine is probably one of the most iconic publications in terms of artistic graphic design and photography. No wonder we featured it here on the blog before. With their quirky and weird collages they strike a very special sense of humor that is quite unique in the world of magazines. Earlier this year they revealed a special collaboration with Italian fashion brand MSGM that has us even more excited. They picked some of their most famous artworks and put them on sweaters and T-shirts. The limited edition capsule collection is really quite something and only very few shops have it. Luckily the Voo Store in Berlin is one of them. They are available in their shop at Oranienstr. 24 in Kreuzberg now and in their webshop. Have a look at the amazing pieces after the jump.

Welcome to the World of Ben & Julia

Welcome to the World of Ben & Julia

If I ever had to move into another place than Berlin I would want it to be a phantasy world thought up by Ben & Julia. The kooky Berlin-based artist duo opened their exhibition The 2nd Live of Kaluk: Hypothesis at Voo Store on Friday and welcomed everyone into their imaginary land of the five-eared dog king. I loved Ben & Julia ever since I discovered their web video Kak & Kook in the Vallery of the farting Hens (yes) and now that I’ve met them in person I love them even more! Enjoy my favorite video and some impressions of their exhibition that will be on display at Voo until November 3rd 2012 after the jump.

Later tonight the two artists will also be doing their magic on your nails at the Fingerbang pop-up nail salon.

As companesation I will add a few more parties for the weekend into this guide and also add them during the week when more pops up on my horizon. Jon John

This week is all in the name of a bloody sacrifice! Karfreitag and Easter is coming up on the weekend, which means for us four work-free days (ideally, we know how that never really works out…). But before that we have movie screenings, free dinners, store openings, art exhibitions, magazine launches, naked performances and more, before everything culminates (ideally) in our annual iHeartBerlin Easter Special that we are doing with and at food gallery Merkezi. Check out the events after the jump.

Berlin Fashion Week – Day 2: The Fashion Shows

Von Bardonitz - ONE Show

Von Bardonitz

Day 2 of Berlin Fashion Week was all about fashion shows and presentations for us. The day started exciting with a little visit to the backstage area of the JULIAANDBEN show at the studio of the official Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week tent. The Berlin cult label had their first ever runway show with our Designer Scouts event at HBC back in 2010. Now they made it into the official tent and delivered a great collection. See the backstage photos and the show impressions after the jump followed by the shows and parties of Von Bardonitz, Augustin Teboul, Wood Wood and Reality Studio on 4 pages.
