5 Amazing Performance Pieces Not to Miss at Tanz im August 2026

The Tanz im August Festival is kicking off tonight and we couldn’t be more excited! This festival brings some of the most exciting dance productions from Germany, Europe and beyond to the most significant stages of Berlin. From the 3 stages of the Hebbel am Ufer theaters, the Haus der Berliner Festspiele, Radialsystem, and Sophiensäle, to special locations such as Tempelhofer Feld, Berlinische Galerie, Stadtbad Oderberger and St. Elisabeth Church you will be able to enjoy the excellence of dance all over the city.
The program is very diverse and multi-faceted – it’s highlights only! But of course, you can hardly watch it all, that’s why we had a closer look at the pieces and selected 5 that we are most excited about. We did select them also based on if there are still tickets available at this point, so you can actually follow up on our recommendation yourself. Each production as 2-4 show times on various days, so if you click on the pieces below for more information you will see all the other dates listed.
