GEGEN AMT

After the wild 4th years Birthday Bash, this GEGEN edition plays on a precious theme of German Society and Culture, launching a malignant dance through its Kafkaesque power mechanisms. The concept is AMT and touches Bureaucracy directly. As Berlin's economy is growing faster and faster through queer migration by using social rights, it is interesting to see what integration means between spending money as private subjects and being recognized as public subjects by social institutions. Embrace the esthetics with the epic and be GEGEN. March 6th from 23-11h at KitKatClub.

HANDS OFF!

HANDS OFF! is a group show curated by Francesca Gavin. This is a show about fragmentation. In a post-digital world we are becoming increasingly detached from our physical selves. Literally cut off from our bodies. The work in this exhibition highlights how this disembodiment creates an image of a prescient computer or digital avatar in search of a body. Room of Requirement Berlin, Altenbrakerstrasse 18.

Queerness und Postkolonialismus

A Panel Discussion on the play Gritty Glamour raises the question of visibility of queer people of colour and post-migrants in diverse contexts. The panel discussion takes on the play’s interrogation, aiming at taking the debate on queerness, post-coloniality and neoliberalism in relation to art, politics and performance further. It will address current discussions and theories on the connection of the categories gender and sexuality with status, class or migration as well as the complexity of hetero- and homogeneities within queerness, particularly relating to queer people of colour and Black people in a white majority society shaped by heteronormativity. Thursday March 12th from 20h at Ballhaus Naunynstrasse, Naunynstr. 27.
