The opening of a temporary Rick Owens store at 77, presenting his ready-to-wear collection, his BIRKENSTOCK collaboration, and, exclusively in Germany, his latest furniture designs. Rauschen von Sasha Waltz & Guests
Sasha Waltz’s new project in co-production with Volksbühne Berlin deals with a society who, within the sceneries of its perfect living spaces, has lost sight of the world. Through states of groundlessness, the choreography with 12 dancers drifts into a revelatory process. Light designer David Finn, who has worked with Sasha Waltz in particular for her great opera productions, infuses a completely white stage with his vivid light spheres. The costumes will be designed by Bernd Skodzig whose creations have accompanied Sasha Waltz’ choreographic work for many years. Check out the Fb event for more info. BERLIN BOUNCER (German & English with English Subtitles) BERLIN BOUNCER tells the story of Berlin, from a divided city to the party metropolis of today, through the eyes of its most legendary doormen. Frank Künster came in the 1980s to study in Berlin while Smiley Baldwin was still guarding the wall as an American GI. Behind the wall lived Sven Marquardt, a young punk and photographer. When the Wall came down, nightlife took control over their lives. Until today they play a decisive role in the reunited city’s never ending nights as the most famous bouncers of Berlin’s popular clubs.
