Metti una sena a cera is the name of a supper club that Suz and I have been checking out the other week. The Italian proverb roughly translates to “Let’s come together and have a dinner”. And that’s exactly what we did. The hosts were an absolutely adorable Italien artist couple from Vennice who run their supper club twice a month in their beautiful spacious studio in Prenzlauer Berg.
The evening was perfect from beginning to end and I couldn’t even tell you what was more lovely, the food, the hosts or the other guests? My impressions after the jump. You can read Suz impressions of the evening in the German version of this article.

The main menu of the evening was a fish menu and as I am not a fan of seafood I was happy they also offered a vegetarian menu as well. Every one of the five courses was really good and for me you couldn’t start with a better drink then an Aperol Spritz. Having a sweet tooth I loved that every dish had a sweet little twist to it, starting with a Caponata of eggplants and raisons, then continuing with handmade Ravioli filled with pears, followed by a cake of dried tomatoes, artichokes, mushrooms and goat cheese. A salad with a sweet vinaigrette was the last step before we finished with a delicious portion of caramel ice cream.
In the photos you can also see the fish menu which I hear was really good as well. Almost every course came with a new bottle of wine. I’m not a big wine drinker, but I actually liked all of them. For 50 EUR (including all drinks) you’ll get a wonderful experience and absolutely delicious food.
