We are still in the middle of the Kunstherbst with more major art events going on. This week we have the big STROKE urban art fair, some knitting action, la grand dame Tori Amos live, la dame bizarre Planningtorock, another Blitz rival, a Weekday event, the big Kunstnacht party and much more… after the jump.
Monday, Oct. 10
Get you knitting needles and wool out! Another Strickenbar at the Etsy Labs is taking place today, Ritterstr. 12-14, 18-21h.
In anticipation of the upcoming Hedwig Tribute Party there will be a screening of the queer cult movie Hedwig and the Angry Inch at Marianne Bar, Mariannenstr. 6, starting at 20:30h.
Tuesday, Oct. 11
My music goddess Tori Amos is playing at Tempodrom tonight, Möckernstr. 10, 20h. If you haven’t read my album review of her latest record Night of Hunters you shall do it now!
Thursday, Oct. 13
Swedish cult label Weekday is celebrating the release of its collaboration with designer Bruno Pieters with a little party at their store at Friedrichstr. 140 starting at 21h. Note the rsvp.
Planningtorock is playing her new album W live at Berghain, Am Wriezener Bahnhof, at 21h. After that there will be an aftershow party at Berghain Kantine with rRoxymore (live), Creep, Olof Dreier (The Knife) and Matt Sims
Friday, Oct. 14
Berlin’s big urban art fair STROKE is taking place this Friday, Saturday and Sunday, bringing together art galleries and artists from all over the world in a big exhibition with many live paintings and workshops. Venue this year is the Postbahnhof at Straße der Pariser Kommune 8. Opening times Fri-Sat 13-23:30h and Sun 13-18h. Check the STROKE website for more details.
The fabulous Blitz party is back this month at Horst Kreuzberg. If you don’t know what we are talking about, have a look here. Tempelhofer Ufer 1., starts at 23:30h.
Saturday, Oct. 15
Coop is inviting once again to the Kunstnacht at the Berlinische Galerie at Alte Jakobstr. 124-128. The events starts at 20h with concerts and DJs and ends at 2h, so come early. The current exhibition will also be open for the event.
After that you should head over to the Fountain of Youth party at Stattbad Wedding, featuring many DJs, performances, visual artists and whatnot in the pool and all over the house. Starts at Midnight. Gerichtstr. 65.
