photos: Bruce Davidson
Taking the subway in Berlin can be quite annoying, especially during Spring and Summer: The wagons are overcrowded, they smell funny, and additionally there are musicians that bother us with just another version of the „Godfather“ theme.
The American photographer Bruce Davidson spent too much time on subway as well. But in to contrast to us, he seemed to have done something useful out of it: Bruce Davidson took pictures, he portrayed the people on the subway. His pictures show the whole range of what you find on the New York subway: uniformity and diversity, anonymity and intimacy, depression and inspiration. This way, these subway pictures become a metaphor for life in the metropolis. Bruce Davidson’s pictures are featured in an exhibition at C|O Berlin, the show is running until 20 May 2012. More after the jump.
