After doing her thing in the far West of Berlin for the past year, PANSY is back at it again in Kreuzberg at the iconic SO36 – a club with such a rich history reaching all the way back into the days of David Bowie and Iggy Pop. This month she is doing not one but two events there – the first one being her big Halloween spectacle that happened earlier this week and brought back some of her favorite drag performers and friends to the stage for some bloody fun.
PANSY’s Halloween events are truly legendary. Of course a lot of events and parties slap the word Halloween into their title these days, but let’s be honest, most of them will not diverge much from their regular program and not a lot of guests will really dress up for the occasion. It’s also not really in the spirit of Halloween to move the event conveniently to the weekend. It is, after all, a holiday on the 31st of October – for a reason.
But PANSY will not betray the traditions of Halloween and stick to the actual date – and here you can trust that people will make their best effort with their looks and costumes – and all of that with a big sense of humor. I’ve spotted the best costumes here I’ve seen in quite some time.
And let’s not forget the drag show! There were so many acts this time: A kinky little number from Fifi Fantome, a little coat hanger abortion from Miss Steak, a (literally) heart-opening act by Alexander Cameltoe and Sabina Moe, a housewife strip-tease of another kind by Turkish Delight, some Wicked magic by Agnes Mitchell, an abortion rap by Viva Ruiz, a very elaborate pickle-themed musical number (sung live) by Nana Schewitz and Miss Poppy Cox, a Scream homage by Luna Tiktoks, and last but not least a Carrie reenactment by Lola Rose with quite the bloody outcome. It was a lot and it was gorgeous!
In the middle of the show, PANSY also called her guests with the best costumes to the stage to reward the 3 best outfits of the night. It was a very unified win for the Tooth Fairy that had the most elaborate and scary look of the entire party.
After the show we stayed at SO36 to dance the night away to the tunes of DJ Ixa Psyborg who played the most delicious queer pop. It was definitely the most fun I’ve had in a Halloween party in a long time and I can’t wait for more of this.
Speaking of which… As mentioned earlier, this was only one of two events this month at SO36 by PANSY. On November 17th she is back with the 6th edition of the annual Mx Kotti drag pageant. You can expect some of the best new drag talents in Berlin and a show to remember. Mark your calendars and book your tickets now.
Below you’ll find the complete gallery of my photo set from Halloween night. Looking at those photos I get a little bit nostalgic as they strongly remind me of my many Halloween party photo sets from the early 2010s. It’s definitely giving retro iHeartBerlin party photo vibes!
