The spirits are even higher than usual among our team today. We are absolutely thrilled to launch a series that is a complete novelty in our over 10 years of blogging. For the first time ever, we’re introducing iHeartBerlin-themed real life products – titled IHB/IRL. The first edition is a colorful sheet of 13 cute stickers created by our talented in-house designer Berk Karaoglu with images you might recall from some of our editorials. The batch is limited, so get ’em while they’re hot!
Over the years, we’ve seen that you heart Berlin just as much as we do, so we’ve tried to figure out an outlet for that love to spread outside of the Internet too. IHB/IRL is a chance for you to have the iHeartBerlin vibe visibly present in your day to day hustle – that’s why we chose to go with stickers for the first edition.
Whether you stick them on your laptop case that you promiscuously lurk over in your coworking space, on the diary where you keep all your darkroom secrets, or to jazz up your Sterni full fridge – we’re honored to be a part of your Berlin experience.
As for the designs – just like the blog, they feature a multitude of topics. There’s the famous John F. Kennedy quote – ”Ich bin ein Berliner” – words that were both an iconic gesture of solidarity with a city that was then divided and a hilarious language blunder suggesting identification with the German donut at the same time. There’s also a personification of the dreaded moment when your tram refuses to go any further – or a sticker that embraces our love for Kotti while acknowledging its rough character.
”My cute Hackfresse” is an expression taken from our editorial listing German insults, and you can read more about how ”Döner macht schöner” in our Berlin Snacks Guide.
As always, we’re keeping it real – and since we’re aware that life in Berlin is a joyride on a sometimes gravel road, we’ve included the less flattering version of ”I … Berlin” as well.
