Soukie & Windish
With the amazing Immergut festival on the last weekend, the festival season in Germany finally started. I have to admit that I am not really a festival guy: freedom, independence, campfires, vodka, canned raviolis – that’s all great, but being on a festival also means camping and using dixie toilets. And I absolutely hate both.
For all of you who are just as snobbish as I am, that there are also some festivals in Berlin: the Berlin Festival in September and Reisen macht den Kopf frei (“Traveling frees your mind”) on this weekend. More about the later after the jump.
Marshall Jefferson
This year, the festival organized by Patentblau and Klangsucht takes place at two locations: during the day, from 10am to 10pm, the party will be at Kraftwerk Rummelsburg. On Friday and Saturday night, the dance continues at Sisyphos. And if you still can walk on Sunday evening, you can attend an after hour party at Golden Gate.
As in every year, the line up is awesome: it features Marshall Jefferson, T. Raumschmiere and A Guy Called Gerald, Sven Dohse, Empro, Herr Süss und Herr Sauer and Soukie & Windish.
Additionally there is also a quite interesting alternative program that features the “Dicht am Mittag” crew and Berlin’s first rave museum. Just like last year, the Mexican Restaurant La Pulqueria will provide the catering.
So: the weather is going to be great, you don’t have to camp or use dixies – there is really no reason not to attend Reisen macht den Kopf frei.
