The first Cinéma de Mode of the new year brings to you the incredibly beautiful fashion film Immortal, a Sorapol production directed by Conor Gorman. The film features the Autumn/Winter 2013/14 collection of Bangkok-born designer Sorapol Chawaphatnakuland in collaboration with British artist Daniel Lismore, which is an elegant mix of dramatic couture creations and equally stunning ready-to-wear pieces. The story behind the designs is based on a young girl who was given to a Chinese Emperor, and then travelled across the Asian continent to her final destination, collecting treasures as she goes to overcome the feelings of delusion and imprisonment. In the latest edition of our Cinéma de Mode we have the gorgeous short film The Cabin by Guy Aroch, accompanying the Free People‘s December catalogue. The mini movie stars Jacques Naude and Noot Seear as a couple working out where their relationship is going and seeking refuge in the cabin in Maine where their love first began. The movie captures not only their genuine and passionate love but it also explores the beautiful bohemian style of the new collection, including cold-weather sweaters, long skirts, ripped jeans, paisley scarves and floppy hats. The fashion film stars American model Arizona Muse, who ends up at a fancy Venetian party, where David Bowie performs a harpsichord version of “I’d Rather Be High”. In today’s Cinéma de Mode we want to put the spotlight on the latest fashion film by renowned creative Tabitha Denholm for tailoring brand Tiger of Sweden recently released to celebrate the launch of the Scandinavian label’s new flagship store on London’s Picadilly. The film A Different Cut stars Jude Law’s son Raffi alongside a cast of seven London creatives from the worlds of art, fashion, music and food, wearing the AW 13 collection. The black-and-white mini movie is a celebration of creativity and individualism focusing on a different cut, paying homage to Bowie‘s cut-up technique as well as Yoko Ono‘s performance art piece Cut Piece.
