Berlin-based fashion label Obectra is hosting a very special runway show during the upcoming Berlin Fashion Week that the designer himself describes as “a theatrical spectacle, one that fashion industry desperately needs again.” It is absolutely true that the Berlin Fashion Week has run out of breath lately, so we are excited about any independent event and production trying new and more daring things.
Obectra will be familiar to many of you who follow our fashion coverage here on the blog in the last years. Their signature fetish-inspired all-black designs have been especially embraced by the people of Berlin’s nightlife looking for the perfect club outfits. The label’s aesthetic has been heavily influenced by Berlin’s sex-positive party scene and those daring characters that are will to stand out from the crowd.
The new collection titled “Dawn” is shaping up to be the label’s biggest and most avant-garde collection so far and so it’s only fitting that it will get presented in one of the most beautiful theatres in Berlin: the former silent movie theater Delphi in Weißensee. The collection will consist of 36 outfits. The models will walk down the runway accompanied by sounds and poetry exclusively written for the show by the designer Blaz Cuk and produced by talented Berlin-based techno DJ Nicolas Bougaïeff.
The doors will open at 17h, the show starts at 19:30h sharp and the event ends at 22h. The entrance will be 10 EUR (keep in mind this is an independently produced event).
For the promotion of the show the label produced a fashion film directed by Guilherme Caeiro which you can see above as well as an editorial shoot by Anil Ayhan and Nazli Deniz Akgün which you can see below starring the wonderful Pierre Emö.
Dawn.
New day is on the horizon.
It’s a new day, seconds away.
Are you ready for it?
Can you handle the struggle?
Are you strong enough?
Or are you weak to die?
New day is on the horizon,
a new day will tell.
A new day awaits you.
