Especially when we are overwhelmed with work, when something significant changes in our life, or when we simply leave our usual surroundings to a new place, this is when we notice our most valuable asset: time.
In Friedrichshain you have time to get lost, as well as time to find something you didn’t know you were looking for. It is a place for nostalgia, for living in the moment, but also for seeking the future. It is an unfinished place, where one of time’s most significant effects becomes very obvious: change.
You definitely notice that unfinished character just by walking down Warschauer Straße, seeing all the construction works, graffiti and improvised shops and galleries. It’s always in progress, always changing. But this is what makes it special, what makes all of Berlin special.
The new label Lilienthal Berlin wants to capture exactly this spirit with their brand new watch, representing the individualistic and unique character of the city that is always in between a state of tranquility and movement. The iconic design symbolizes both the diverse history, but also its colorful present and future with subliminal details and aesthetic quotes of the city. With the exchangeable leather wristbands and color options of the body and face, it is adaptable to its wearer as the city itself.
To celebrate the launch of today’s exclusive pre-sale of their first model – the Lilienthal Berlin L1, which comes in a limited edition of 1440, all designed in Berlin and manufactured in Germany – the label sent us on a 24h tour to explore our favorite places in Berlin. We took the watch with us on our way through Friedrichshain, always with the time on our side. Enjoy our highlights after the jump!

Even if youʼve never heard of the Naked Boys Reading before—you kind of get the idea. Itʼs literally naked boys, reading. What is a huge success in London and Brighton comes to Berlin for the fourth time on February 25, 2016, and this time as a 2-4-1 special with two naked boys reading at the same time. Founder Dr. Sharon Husbands will be your host together with the infamous Berlin drag queen Pansy. Sharon Husbands partner in crime, The Duchess of Pork, will be serving tunes before, in between, and after the readings. Hand-picked boys will read their favorite stories in pairs of two wearing not more than a book. Support for this event has been provided by the Berlin publishing house Bruno Gmünder. After the literal meat inspection, the party will go on with a performance by Berlin-based MJ Woodbridge… A little preview after the jump.

Sometimes more simply IS more. That’s how it went at the 10th anniversary party of Monster Ronson’s Ichiban Karaoke on Monday. Despite many other special guests and performers, like Ziúr and ReveRso, the band Eat Lipstick quite rocked it – not only by celebrating birth(day), when Mad Kate came out naked underneath Anita Drink’s dress. If you didn’t wake up with glitter everywhere the next morning, you’ve cleary done something wrong. Enjoy the photos after the jump.
Last week the annual Sparkle Army party exploded for the fourth time at Monster Ronson’s. Femme fatal Jackee Word once again swung her barely covered ass around the dancing pole and Peaches made surprise appearance during the Sparkle outfit contest. Enjoy the photos and animations after the jump.

This week brings us the first set of Halloween-esque parties, a couple of interesting exhibition openings and another revolution by Dorkypark. This and more after the jump.
With the Berlin Music Week going on this week the schedule is brimming with amazing events and concerts. Of course the Berlin Festival is one of the highlights of the week-end and we are looking forward to it because we are involved in it this year. It’s still a surprise but we will reveal it in a couple of days. Exciting!!! Find out what else is going on this week in our weekly event guide after the jump.
This week is offering us the traditional Tanz in den Mai with many open air parties today and tomorrow. The Berlin Web Week is taking place at Station for all of those web nerds amongst you. And the Berghain is offering us some very strong music events on Wednesday and Thursday. Find out more after the jump.

Helloooo 2012. We were thinking a lot if we should do a 2011 recap or a 2012 forecast. But, frankly I’ve seen quite enough of these on the big wide interdolly and I want to spare you yet another. So let’s get 2012 rolling with our event of the first week. We have the usual mix of art, movies, parties and other opportunities for a fun night after the jump.
Rangleklods by Jeppe Svendsen
This week is the week of the returns. On Wednesday the Blind Date Swingers Club Mix CD Exchange Party is coming back with new rules and new venue after a longer break, also the Travelettes Christmas Market is back with a big charity tomobola, and finally Rangleklods who is one of my favorite upcoming electronic music acts has returned to Berlin for two live gigs this weekend. Check out all of these events and more after the jump.
Well, Claudio can complain as much as he likes about our colorful and silly outfit party photos here, but I will post yet another one of them, and again a heavily animated one! This time from the glitter bomb that was the third annual Sparkle Army party at Monster Ronson’s. The crazy Karaoke bar has glammed up big time for this with a new fabulous disco light floor, sparkeling wallpaper and blinking long drink glasses. Fun! Have a look at the explosion after the jump on 3 pages!
