On Friday night the 7th SKYY VODKA SWAP MARKET took place at Café Moskau with the most amazing designer and vintage pieces to swap ever. We had a lot of fun dancing to the music of Alina and Andi from Frida Gold, DJ Noema and the boys of Bodi Bill. It was a great night and I feel lucky to be part of this project. Enjoy the photos and some GIF animations after the jump.

Designers & Bloggers for Charity at the SKYY VODKA SWAP MARKET

Boessert/Schorn

Tomorrow it’s finally time for the next SKYY VODKA SWAP MARKET. The big charity swapping party is happening now for the 7th time and this year they have a new location at the historical Café Moskau. Bodi Bill will be DJ, along with Alina and Andi from Frida Gold and DJ Noema. At the swap market you will not only find really cool vintage pieces (I hear this year they got the best submissions ever) but also brand new designer clothes by labels such as JULIAANDBEN, Esther Perbandt, Von Bardonitz, Franzius, Boessert/Schorn, The Shit, Michalsky, Laurèl, Guido Maria Kretschmer and many more. Also for the first time 12 bloggers (including myself) have donated accessories, vintage or new designer clothes for a good cause, as all proceeds of the evening will be donated to the charity organisation Berliner Aids-Hilfe e.V. After the jump you’ll find a preview selection of the designer clothes and all the blogger donations.

The Berlin Fashion Week Event & Party Guide

The Berlin Fashion Week Event & Party Guide

Tom van de Borght

I HAVE ABSOLUTELY NOTHING TO WEAR!!! Seriously, I have no idea what I am gonna wear next week. Not a single outfit. Somehow I have neglected to go shopping in the past few months. My wallet is grateful, but I am in horror of those moments I need to get dressed to leave the house for the coming week.

My mundane problems aside, once again we have selected the most interesting – and most importantly: public – events, shows and parties of the upcoming Berlin Fashion Week. We also added a couple of events that are closed, but that we are raffling off tickets for in our big Berlin Fashion Week Ticket Packages. Have a look at the best of Berlin Fashion Week after the jump. And don’t forget to get your outfits sorted…

The Greenville Festival

The Greenville Festival

The festival season is about to start off. That time of the year, when winter is far away and life seems to consist only of laughter, joy and dancing. All we want is sun, rain, flirts, pulls, headaches, mosquito bites, ear plugs, hallucinations, stupid camping, dirty shoes, happy faces, goose bumps, love, cosy sleeping bags, mobile phones that don’t work, a sunburn, awful dixie toilets, stumbling around, losing all our friends, meeting new people, finding our friends again, happiness out of description and the great depression afterwards. Heaven! All that awaits you at a festival at the gates of Berlin: the Greenville Festival between the 27th and the 29th of July featuring headliners Iggy & The Stooges and The Flaming Lips, Gogol Bordello, Bodi Bill, Mike Skinner and Cro. The complete line-up plus more info on Greenville Festival after the jump: read more…

Illustrative Grand Opening

Illustrative Opening

Last night saw the grand opening of the Illustrative 2009 festival at the (gorgeous) Villa Elisabeth and the party in the old church next door. I was actually not planning on covering this at all as the persistent bombarding of press releases to this event annoyed the shit out of me. But the exhibition is actually kind of awesome and I did find some crazy folks at the party worth capturing. Was there a costume theme I didn’t know of or was everybody already dressed up for the Broken Hearts Club? See a glimpse of the exhibition and impressions of the party after la jump.

Don’t You Touch My Boyfriend!

Alphabeat

One of the new pleasures I get thanks to my new T-Entertain package that I have the honor to test drive for a couple of months is MTV Music, a music channel that only plays videos and these quirky little animations that MTV has been known for in the ninties. It is so nice to actually see some music videos again after all these terrible reality shows and ringtone commercials had me totally abandon music television for several years now.

Of course there are a couple of songs in the rotation that started to annoy the shit out of me after a while which include Leona Lewis’ Forgive Me, Madonna’s Give It To Me and Kid Rocks Sweet Home Alabama (nice mix, huh?). But a couple of other are really nice and my absolute favorite is Boyfriend by Danish newcomer band Alphabeat. Musically and visually it’s pretty 80s pop, but in a good way. It’s a really fun song and a cute video. See for yourself after the jump. But be warned, hands off of her Boyfriend!

5th Berlin Biennale - Skulpturenpark

So, last weekend we did our tour on the 5th Berlin Biennial – with great hopes, cause last time around was pretty amazing. But now, 3 days later I am still in shock how bad it was. I mean, there was one thing we liked, which was the Pushwagner Exhibition at the Schinkelpavillion (which is quite small but free by the way), but the rest was pretty much a big disappointment. Read on to learn why.
