The Animated Sparkle Army Party Photos

Sparkle Army #3

Well, Claudio can complain as much as he likes about our colorful and silly outfit party photos here, but I will post yet another one of them, and again a heavily animated one! This time from the glitter bomb that was the third annual Sparkle Army party at Monster Ronson’s. The crazy Karaoke bar has glammed up big time for this with a new fabulous disco light floor, sparkeling wallpaper and blinking long drink glasses. Fun! Have a look at the explosion after the jump on 3 pages!

The Weekly Event Guide

Tree and Moon by JR, courtsy of Circle Culture

Most of the time we are used to taking. Take a photo, take some time, take a piss, take the cake, take that. How about this week we do a little giving. And what giving feels better than one that includes taking also? Take a piece of art, give money to charity for instance. Swell! Take this, as well as short films, concerts, gallery openings, workshops, parties and much more, as usual after the jump!

Hedwig & The Angry Inch Tribute Party

Hedwig Tribute Party

Here comes the second Halloween party photo set that I took last week on Thursday at Monster Ronson’s at the Tribute party for the queer cult movie Hedwig & The Angry Inch (you really have to see this movie!). A couple of performers such as Alexander, Mary Orcher and Hedi Mohr sang their versions of Hedwigs fabulous songs. Have a look at the party after the jump!

The Slim Week

Drei

Okay, so shortly before Christmas there is not much going on in town as people seem busy preparing gifts, or fly back home to their family, or simply staying in because of the snow. But we wouldn’t be iHeartBerlin if we didn’t at least find one recommendable event per day. See our slim but swell selection after the jump.

UPDATE: Mobile Kino was moved to next year due to HBCs early Xmas break.

The Sparkle Army

The Sparkle Army

Last Saturday the Sparkle Army party took place for the second time at Monster Ronson’s. It was a truly sparkeling affair with lots of glitter, costumes and space disco music. You can watch a little movie about it over at Chlorophorm TV. More impressions after the jump.

Interview with a Party Boy

Berlin is a magnet to the youth from all over the world. Especially the pulsating nightlife seems to be one of the main attractions. Illeagal parties in abandoned villas, dark and raunchy clubs in old industrial buildings, spontanous raves in the middle of a park, artsy opening events of quirky little galleries and decadent champagne receptions in expensive boutiques. Berlin seems to have it all.

But how do you find the places that are too new or too underground to be in a tourist guide book or on some website’s event listing? We have met someone who has dedicated himself to answering this question. For more than two years Frank has been running the blog iHeartBerlin.de which now seems to be the number one source for many to find the best parties. We talked to him about Berlin and it’s nightlife after he finished a 7 day party marathon last week. Read on for the “interview”.

Monster Ronson’s Ichiban Karaoke

Monster Ronson’s Ichiban Karaoke

Last Monday we went to the open booth night at Monster Ronson’s Ichiban Karaoke. I haven’t actually done Karaoke there in a while. But when I do it is always the same game: In the beginning you are just to shy to start performing on your own. Nervously you flip around in the song book claiming you still haven’t found the right song for your debut. Then you start supporting your friends with the chorus, until finally the ice breaks and you sing your own songs (usually a couple of drinks have something to do with it, too). That’s when the fun beginns. And in our case we almost couldn’t stop! And I have to tell you, Katja from Glamcanyon is actually a great performer. Some fun impressions of our night and the details about Monster Ronson’s after the jump.
