The Fruit Salad – Episode 3 – Runway

The Fruit Salad – Episode 3 – Runway

If fashion week is war, runway is the battlefield. And I did a good portion of fights last week to go to each event and make sure that everybody noticed that I was there. Is this egomanic? I do’t think so. To see all my adventures at Berlin Fashion Week and to see the shows I visited and enjoyed the most (Patrick Mohr, Moga e Mago, The Shit, Lena Hoschek, Mark Stone and the best of them all Charlie Le Mindu) please have a look at the third episode called Runway after the jump.

The Fruit Salad – Tata Christiane makes me Gaga

The Fruit Salad – Tata Christiane makes me Gaga

Fashion Week is nearly over. But wait, there is one person I want to present you before all my fruits are back in the closet: Tata Christiane. This amazing artist just makes me gaga. She is not only one of the most talented and colorful fashion designers in town. She has also a band together called Aniaetleprogrammeur. The music is very dark and somehow haunted. A perfect clash with the color and print magic she is doing on all here designs and dresses. On my street style day in Wedding I was wearing one of here outfits and a headpiece she designed. Also, on the first day of Fashion Week I was wearing a unisex piece from Tata. There I met another blogger called Max Bonheur who was wearing one of her outfits, too. Tonight she is doing a fashion installation and a party. My fruitiest singer Peaches will have a DJ set there along with Tata, Charlie Le Mindu and Vava Dudu so dont miss it. More information are in our event guide. After the jump some of my best poses in Tata’s amazing dresses.

Cinéma de Mode: Back to the Wild

Cinéma de Mode: Back to the Wild

For this week’s Cinéma de Mode we have the perfect print trend inspiration for the upcoming summer, thanks to the Basement Jaxx‘ brain-wrecking and psychedelic safari video for Back 2 the Wild, directed by Mat Maitland & Natalia Stuyk. The British dance duo’s music video was released over a month ago, but it still excites us, not only for its kitschy jungle collages with tropical and tribal geometries, but also for the amazing styling by fashion designer Charlie Le Mindu. The young French hair stylist has once again impressed everyone for his unconventional and over-the-top headpieces and wigs, combined with zany safari outfits in a vivid colour overload. Take a journey to this freaky imaginary land after the jump! read more…

London Fashion Week – Get Naked!

LFW SS11

Charlie Le Mindu

When the models of Charlie Le Mindu came out on the runway at London Fashion Week I was truly puzzled by the sight of their complete nudity. But on the other hand I was thinking, well with a hat this enormous, what do you need clothes for? This show was surely one of the highlights of the London Fashion Week this season. It has been a while since I’ve been there. But it was just as much fun and excitement as last time. Our impressions after the jump.

Berlin Fashion Week Special: Berlin Fashion Film Festival 2014

Berlin Fashion Week Special: Berlin Fashion Film Festival 2014

Christopher Walken in ‘Made from Cool’ by Martin Werner

For our second special we have teamed up with this year’s edition of the Berlin Fashion Film Festival that is going into it’s third round next week on July 9 and 10. It’s impressive how the little festival has developed into such a big thing in such a short amount of time. This year they host several public screenings at the Arsenal Kino during Berlin Fashion Week on Wednesday where you can see fashion films with famous Hollywood actors such as Christopher Walken, Javier Bardem, Cate Blanchett, Kate Winslet, and Jessica Chastain. Not bad, huh? You should get your tickets here. And to put a cherry on top they invited famous Russian artist Andrey Bartenev to give a runway presentation of his bubbely sculptural design performances at the award show on Thursday evening. That’s going to be a mad affair for sure. Some preview videos, more photos and details, and your chance to win tickets for the screenings after jump.
