The Visitors: A Slasher Horror of Current Realities
Advert.
Today we have the pleasure and honor to help spread the word about a very special theater piece returning to the stage of Volksbühne Berlin on June 28-30: The Visitors by Constanca Macras / Dorkypark.
Macras has never been shy of taking a swing at big socio-political and socio-economic topics in her pieces such as gentrification, statelessness, migration, or marginalization. The Visitors is no exception here, as it deals with the consequences of Apartheid which is still a burning issue today. Especially, in times like these, it’s important for us to listen to the discourse in the arts and culture world, to counterbalance the noises of social media and ramblings of populism.
iHeartBerlin’s New Mini-Collection – Why We’re Releasing Fashion Now
For the casual consumer of our content, it might have come as a bit of a random surprise when we recently dropped our mini collection. For those of you who have been following us a bit longer, you might know we do release the occasional physical product, but those were mostly books. So why switch from print to clothing you might wonder? Well, it’s a little bit back to the roots for us, because that’s how we first started our foray into the world of physical things. Between 2012 and 2013, we designed several small collections of clothes and accessories in collaboration with different brands.
The new collection is both in reference to these first steps of making products, but also an homage to our origins as Berlin’s number-one party blog. Nightlife is what made us pop back then, and it’s still what makes our hearts beat today so we wanted to capture that in our collection.
The New Place for Luxurious Moments: The Moët & Chandon Bar Berlin

Advert.
Berlin has a very special new place for the exclusive moments in life: The elegant Moët & Chandon Bar Berlin on the legendary food floor ‘Die Sechste’ of KaDeWe has recently opened, serving an exquisite selection of finest champagnes, cocktails, and delicate snacks – a bar of its own kind. Following the opening of the very first Moët & Chandon Bar at renowned Harrods in London last year, the first one in Germany has followed in the famous department store KaDeWe in Berlin. But let’s quickly rewind a few decades for a little trip back to a time long before iHeartBerlin: Back in the late 2000s, the KaDeWe was already an It-place that enjoyed worldwide fame and was a favorite for all Berliners. Especially the gourmet floor convinced me. It was pure fascination when I was younger. For years this became a special place for me where I could escape the daily life every now and then to treat myself. read more…
Pansy Presents Halloween 2023 at SO36
PANSY’s Halloween events are truly legendary. Of course a lot of events and parties slap the word Halloween into their title these days, but let’s be honest, most of them will not diverge much from their regular program and not a lot of guests will really dress up for the occasion. It’s also not really in the spirit of Halloween to move the event conveniently to the weekend. It is, after all, a holiday on the 31st of October – for a reason.
10s Across the Board: A Ballroom Showdown for the Trophy
photos: Frank R. Schröder.
The Berlin Ballroom Scene has been cooking something up over the past months that finally came to light this past weekend. With the event “10s Across the Board: A Ballroom Showdown for the Trophy” the local scene took a new format to the stage of Theater des Westens that has never been done before in Berlin. It proposes an alternative to classic Balls with their competitions and battles on the runway, elevating Ballroom from the underground to the limelight of the big theater stages of the city.
Two Ballroom Legends are behind this spectacle: Mother Leo from the House of Saint Laurent and Mother Ambrosia from the House of Gorgeous Gucci. They teamed up with Tingel Tangel – the new program at Theater des Westens – to create something truly unique and fantastic.
A Heartfelt Farewell to the Marvellous Aérea Negrot
photo: Vanessa Marino.
Aérea Negrot is a Berlin icon. The sad news of her death that reached us on Thursday will not change that. She was beloved far beyond Berlin’s queer nightlife, theater, and art world. She was a brilliant artist, performer, DJ. She was mother, she was diva, she was queen, she was everything and more.
It’s a first one for me, to write about someone from within our circles who passed. I’m honestly heartbroken, but I feel like I have so much to say.
25 Years Potsdamer Platz: A Free Festival For Everyone
Advert.
When I went to Berlin alone for the first time 24 years ago, one of the first places I visited was Potsdamer Platz. At that time I was insanely impressed by the architecture, the stores, all the cinemas, theaters, and restaurants. I felt as if I had been transported to the future. What they came up with for this historic place back then absolutely resonated with me.
This coming weekend, September 15-16, Potsdamer Platz is now celebrating its 25th anniversary with a big, free festival. A lot has happened in this quarter of a century. A whole neighborhood has developed around it, and the square as a whole is even busier and more active than when I first visited. In particular, the restructuring of the former Potsdamer Platz Arkaden into The Playce is probably the most striking recent change. It is the first mall in Berlin to undergo a major overhaul and attract visitors with a new concept.

Free and Outdoors: 10 Great Events of the Kultursommerfestival in Berlin in August & September
Advert. photo: Fabian Brennecke.
This summer in Berlin has undoubtedly been more eventful than ever. In the last few weeks, we have attended more events and parties than we have in a long time, and I can’t remember the last time I had so much fun and beautiful moments.
We owe many of these events to the Kultursommerfestival, which has just celebrated its half-time. Since the end of June, around 100 cultural events have been taking place throughout Berlin, free of charge and outside. There is a lot to experience here until September 3, and to give you an overview, we have picked out 10 highlights for you that you should definitely visit.
