I admit it: I don’t have TikTok and whatever goes on there has so far completely passed by me. But if there is one video that would actually draw me into it, it’s the one by the beautiful Lola. Earlier this month one of her TikTok videos went viral on her Twitter that I want to share with you here as it’s pure genius because not only is it very accurate, it’s also quite hilarious. In a little montage, she performs the different dance styles that you will typically see at techno parties, not only here in Berlin but I assume worldwide, including the “basic 2 step”, the “roly poly”, the “march” and the “berghain veteran sway”. I think everyone who has been to a techno party will recognize these moves easily, and real techno kids will most likely recognize themselves here. The interesting thing is, she is doing it with such a straight face (as is typical at a rave) that you can’t tell if it’s a mockery or pure education. It’s whatever you decide what it is for you. We absolutely love it and hope to bump into this girl once the clubs reopen…

It is no secret that we are huge fans of Berlin label UY. So it comes as no surprise that we were thrilled to find out that the label plans a very special extravaganza to celebrate its 5th anniversary. Combining their passion for the theatrical and their strong connection to Berlin’s nightlife the event was recently revealed to be a dance performance at Halle (the awesome location inside the building of Berghain) that will premiere tonight!
We had the chance to witness the press preview last night and of course, took the opportunity to capture some impressions for you. You can expect a grand spectacle with lots of golden outfits, a fantastic choreography by The Progressive Wave, and a soundtrack by Dasha Rush that could not be more fitting for the location. You should get tickets for the 19h or 21h show and join the after party at Berghain Kantine.

One could say that Berlin has a reputation for being a bit of a sexual playground. Some take this quite literally and like to indulge in the slightly dicey activity of sex in public. Personally, I can think of about a million reasons how this naughty scheme could become my worst nightmare, but these concerns aside, there’s probably no time like the summer to go through with it. Behold the iHeartBerlin guide to the 10 public locations that might possibly provide you just the right amount of privacy – or, if desired, a lack thereof.

I honestly feel a bit guilty for posting yet another thing capitalizing on the fame of Berghain, but on the other hand, I know people are just gonna love it. And I don’t want to be in the way of that fun.
So, Berghain as made its way into the virtual world: Someone recreated it in Minecraft and Mixmag published a walk-through on Facebook yesterday. It’s quite rich in detail which is really impressive. It’s fun to trace your own steps through the infamous club and even walk corners you haven’t been before. My personal highlight is the little bat flying around in the place. Cute.
.Enjoy the experience and visit the empty virtual techno temple in the video below. Spoiler alert: It’s not really the same as going there IRL… 😉 Kudos to whoever created this…

We decided to rethink the concept of a conventional bucket list and came up with scenarios that shamelessly embrace Berlin’s potential as the backdrop of some memorable experiences. And ‘’memorable’’ is actually somewhat of an understatement here – some of these shenanigans are simply unforgettable, even if some parties involved may indeed wish otherwise. While we are by no means condoning every single one of these actions, let alone encourage anyone to draw any kind of inspiration for real-life pranks, it would literally just be ‘’so Berlin’’ if you were ever to…

Finally! The feared and mystified bouncers of the infamous Berlin club scene are featured in their own film! Didn’t you always want to know what a bouncer is like in daily life? Director David Dietl accompanied three well-known bouncers, Frank Künster, Sven Marquardt and Smiley Baldwin, for a while to give us a glimpse behind the curtains of the people that you usually have a very one-sided conversation with – “bitte” or “heute leider nicht”.
Berlin Bouncer tells the story of the development of Berlins nightlife and fills us in about the good and the ugly parts of its history. From the Fall of the Wall until today, Berlin’s party scene has changed and evolved dramatically. Who has witnessed it more up close and personal than Berlin’s club bouncers? Dietl takes us far beyond the party scene, deep into the story of each protagonist and into their daily lives.
